Introduction to The Awakening, Your 2025 Reading from Planet Waves

Dear Friend and Reader:

There is apprehension in the air. People are worried. You can hear it between the words and sense it just beyond people’s best efforts to feel good.

I share your concern about what is coming over the next couple of years. World managers are making a bad situation worse. Every day it seems like there is another war, or act of war. Everything seems to be pushed out to the edge and stretched to its limits. Digital consciousness seems to be vacuuming up peoples’ souls.

But the Dharma — the ultimate truth of your purpose here — remains unchanged. The meaning of your life is unharmed by the state of the world. My purpose in doing astrology is to bring us closer to that core of light that we can access all the time: the ability to feel and express true purpose.

My 2025 annual readings, The Awakening, are designed to help you do just that.

Looking at the charts for 2025 and into 2026, I can see why people are nervous. Pluto, finally moving into Aquarius to stay, is being propelled by a series of meetings of Jupiter and Saturn that extends into next year. That’s the feeling of “this is the last chance.”

And Pluto, for its part, will lead to many new standoffs between the group and the individual. I hope we learned from the 2020+ crisis never to take someone else’s medicine, or to make them take ours.

Planet Waves subscriber Watersnake quoted me in a comment a moment ago: “You need to bring your creativity into the environment.” Adding: "Yes. And. When the rules of relating have become as rigid and proscribed as they now have become, ANY behavior outside the ‘ritual dance’ upsets people operating within the accepted conditioning.”

Said another way, the more algorithmic we become, the harder it will be to even remember that we are human. You still can. Many reminders will come in the form of someone — the government, a drug company, a YouTube — trying to frighten you into forgetting, which I suggest you let serve as a wake-up call.

Therefore, it’s good news that Aries, the sign of human potential, is about to explode into a thousand colors. This will provide a potential source of consciousness, heat and light for everyone.

At the same time, this truly means we must each find the Sacred Path of the Warrior for ourselves. Your awakening, your emergence into yourself, ain’t about nobody else. Your path is for your steps alone. And if you stick to it, you will likely meet other equally determined people.

The three stages of Aries transformation are the April 2024 solar eclipse conjunct Chiron; the 2025 ingress of both Saturn and Neptune into Aries, which will form a conjunction on the Aries Point into 2026; and the series of conjunctions between Chiron and Eris in 2025 and 2026.

The April 2024 total solar eclipse was the warmup for a run of Aries astrology that we have not seen since the mid-19th century (when its vast potential was not used very well — those revolutions did not turn out as planned and some spawned new problems or made things worse). What might make the difference? A matter of personal investment; and of individual change, rather than the emphasis on collective.

If not for all this Aries, meaning the potential for awakening and self-actualization, I would be rather worried. Aries will provide energy to stand up to the challenges we will be facing. But we must direct it consciously, and creatively, and remain absolutely sincere in the process.

These are the themes I will be covering in The Awakening, your 2025 annual readings from Planet Waves.
