Astonishingly, we are at the quarter-century milestone of the Sept. 11 attacks. More than any single event in American history, 9/11 changed everything all at once — and yet we barely know or understand how or why. After all this time, we have witnessed the descent of society into illiterate ignorance.
Sept. 11 was the inauguration of the internet as our primary news source. Television was still important, though digital coverage of Sept. 11 is what established real-time internet news.
Coverage of this incident has been a staple of Planet Waves astrology since the days after the event. Sept. 11 is the chart that proves astrology. And that astrology has one message: things are not what they seem. Pay attention.
Mercury and Saturn: Mutual Reception, One and the Same
The reason we have astrology is to peer into the otherwise invisible environment. Sept. 11 in total facilitates an important study of this concept — as long as you do the work to establish the basic facts on the ground. Let’s start with the chart.
The Sept. 11 chart (in simplified form, above) has a defining feature that stands out among its other distinctions. The planet that represents the hidden enemy (Mercury) and the planet that represents the government (Saturn) do all kinds of fancy acrobatics, they work together, and they exchange places. Once you understand the facts of Sept. 11, 2001, this becomes the chart that proves astrology.
Mercury and Saturn — the “hidden enemy” and the “government structure”, function as one and the same thing: mutual reception in a trine by degree (the most precise kind, representing full cooperation or merged identity).
Mercury, with wings on his feet, represents things that fly. He’s also a messenger.
Saturn represents the government and structured power; in Gemini, Saturn represents the “two” towers. The two glide together effortlessly in a perfect 120-degree trine — an aspect of ease and flow. Mercury and Saturn in the 9/11 chart do everything but oppose one another. It’s so blatant that astrologers are afraid to talk about it, lest they be accused of conspiracy theorizing. The explosive force comes from Pluto in Sagittarius (not shown in this chart). In the 3rd house, that is a local affair — not international.

Yet as thousands of professional architects and structural engineers have pointed out, when steel and concrete structures built to withstand hurricanes and airplane strikes come down at free-fall speed, they had help. Free-fall means that something falls without resistance.
Whatever was beneath them (for example, about 80 floors of steel and concrete) was pulled out of the way. The bottom of the building holds up the top of the building. If the top is damaged, it is still being held up by the undamaged bottom.
The only thing one must overcome to see this is a limit on perception; you can measure the speed that WTC 1, 2 and 7 fall down, and many have done it. Once you see this, you cannot unsee it, and then you have to deal with the implications. And that requires something of a paradigm shift on existence — usually well needed.
No matter what evil or genocide it perpetuates (on others), the government seems to maintain its image of benevolence. We owe it to ourselves, whether as humans on the planet, spiritual seekers or astrologers, to ask ourselves why this is.

I began my coverage on Sept. 13, 2001, with a commentary. A few weeks after the attacks, Planet Waves published an article called Mercury Also Rises which examined the 8:46 am chart for what we are told was Flight 11 hitting WTC 1. I wrote this six months before I began an investigation into the specific events starting with the Pentagon. You might say I was an early adopter; but I was never part of a “truth movement.” I am a journalist who looks into what seems obvious.
Here are some quotes, written in a time when belief in the dominant narrative was not only mandatory but difficult to see beyond. [Present-day commentary is in brackets.]

Mercury [in this specific chart] represents a secret enemy. Mercury, the trickster, is playing some very fancy tricks in this chart. Mercury is exactly trine Saturn in Gemini in the 9th house. Saturn, the planet of structure, placed in Gemini, the sign of the Twins, is the very image of the Twin Towers. This also represents the ideology (9th house) of imperialist capitalism as it looms over the world (again, 9th house). Saturn is opposed by Pluto in Sagittarius [the Saturn-Pluto opposition], Pluto’s placement being the essence of religious fanaticism. Pluto is in the 3rd house. He is operating as a local, not international, force.

Cancer is the sign located on the cusp of the 10th house of “government, office, dignity, preferment, or any place of command or trust,” ruled by Luna [the Moon], queen of the sign Cancer — so by her rulership, she represents these people and functions. But she is void-of-course, floating at the end of Gemini; somebody in a position of command or trust was not paying attention (for example, at the Pentagon), once the attacks had begun.
[Here, I miss the fact that the 10th ruler represents Bush, who was left out of the plans for the sake of plausible deniability.]

The Saturn to Pluto opposition represents the culmination of the major cycle of world history unfolding in the 20th century (please see detailed section below). The trine from Mercury to Saturn speaks of the ease, skill and luck with which this attack was carried out, the directness of the hit, and the clarity of the message.

The NORAD Drill and Blaming the Guys in Caves
On Sept. 11, 2001, there was the known incident and also an Air Force drill that mirrored the incident, both with four simultaneous hijacked aircraft. Blame for this incredibly complex operation (timed to the minute with a military drill with the same details) was projected onto 19 claimed hijackers and directed by some imaginary guys in a cave.
We were told that 17 of those claimed terrorists were said to be from Saudi Arabia (our staunch allies) and two from the United Arab Emirates (our other staunch allies).
How does this go unquestioned till the present day?
As for the Air Force drill happening on that same day and time, here is a handy-dandy Gemini A.I. response from Google, proving that it is wholly mainstream:
“On the morning of September 11, 2001, NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) was actively conducting routine training exercises, which initially caused confusion as military personnel struggled to distinguish real-world events from simulated scenarios.”
Yes it was confusing because both the secret drill, interior non-exercise communications and the public news reports said there were four simultaneous hijacked airplanes in the air for the first time in history, quite a coincidence.
It is amazing that this coincidence has never been a topic of public conversation and that few people have even heard of it. [From this, we learned when investigating for a false flag incident, look for the simultaneous drill; there will often be one.]
The Charnel Ground
We now live in what you might call the Sept. 11 economy, or what Naomi Klein calls disaster capitalism. This is also a state of mind; it is no longer possible to look at a skyscraper and not imagine it in flames falling to the ground. It’s not possible to board a jet airliner and not be reminded many times that it can be turned into a weapon.
Said another way, it is no longer possible to imagine society as something that is actually safe, stable or dependable.
The ongoing message of Sept. 11 is that you cannot trust anyone or anything, anywhere, ever, including your own perception. (Think of these as being manifestations of change-up Mercury trine Saturn in mutual reception.)
American political and social news has always been a nonstop high drama of deception, betrayal and things blowing up. Yet the New York City skyline turning into a charnel ground was shock and awe on an incomprehensible scale — ultimately directed at the American people.
Mercury rising in the chart represented a message, and that message also includes the excuse for endless, ongoing war. The direct result or effect of Sept. 11 was two decades of bombing of Iraq and Afghanistan: more “never again” Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia of the 20th century, and the ongoing bombing of West Asia in the 21st century. This includes the assault on Iran that we’ve been witnessing the past year and a half.
Untold billions of dollars are shipped into warfare while people struggle to buy groceries. And it’s as if nobody notices the connection. And now, the entire economy has been gambled on computers that many people say could end the world (but I think they are incorrect about how that might happen). Most people are oblivious to the dangers; it’s as if nothing matters.
The Spiritual Wound, and Our Society Haunted by Threat
The theme of the 21st century has been making everything safer, all on the excuse of Sept. 11, 2001. Yet we live in a world where the danger only escalates. And as it escalates, and becomes a constant presence, it becomes invisible.
We have become so shellshocked by repeated traumas that we don’t recognize them when they are happening. With Sept. 11, we began the precedent of keeping silent to not seem crazy. Many people questioned the event; few dared to speak out, lest they be numbered among the accused.
No matter how well the facts of an event are proven, and no matter how many people are hurt, it seems the vast majority of society learns absolutely nothing from this ongoing chain of incidents. That is a sign of shock.
People seem to live with the fear as best they can, or “go along to get along.”
It’s not easy to live in a state of constant betrayal. It is nearly impossible to exist not trusting existence, and when you’re reminded every day that you should not. To live thinking the enemy is everywhere is agonizing.
This is how we live: expecting everything to collapse, any day now, any hour now, wondering how we will survive. What we are doing is living in survival mode, including emotional and economic.
The events of Sept. 11 left a spiritual void, as well as shock and trauma that are not being addressed. I would call on all reading this message to rise to the occasion.

My Contemporaneous Notes from Sept. 11, 2001
I was in bed sleeping, sick, when my friend and photographic collaborator Neal McDonough called me. It was a little after 7 a.m. Pacific Time. I was really out of it.
He told me that both towers of the World Trade Center had been hit by jet planes and that one tower had collapsed. I was stunned and thought he was kidding, but he calmly reassured me that he wasn’t. He’s known me 15 years and knew just how to talk through my delirium, stating the facts really calmly. I remember thinking I was glad it was him talking to me, I was happy I had heard it from him and not a stranger, or the news.
Two nights before, just after returning from my first Burning Man, my partner, Eve, had dumped me rather brutally, telling me a number of lies that it took me nearly a year to get to the bottom of. I went into shock and got sick with a fever and stomach and intestinal issues. That same night (the 9th), a lover who was staying at my home had a dream of everyone dying in a big disaster that had been planned by the government, some kind of virus.
So, I was sick, grieving and freaked out, but still managed to begin daily updating of Planet Waves. I cancelled about half of my astrology clients that week — I’m not sure why I didn’t cancel all of them, though in my appointment book the whole day is crossed out for the 11th. I talked to a lot of journalism colleagues, astrological colleagues, old friends — I was on the phone the entire day.
I remember saying [to Rick Levine] that there were only two entities in the entire world capable of this kind of thing [Mossad and the CIA]. It felt good to work, to connect, it felt grounding to work with people and deal with what happened, very immediate and here/now, and important to stay in the stream of life and keep my attention sharp. One of my clients is a psychiatrist living in Oklahoma City and she had some valuable insights about how a culture absorbs this kind of disaster.
I spent a lot of time looking at the chart. I started writing. I had my first full article done and posted on the 14th, “Hold On World.” I was less impressed by the horror of the whole thing and more freaked out because I knew we would be bombing the daylights out of someone as a result of this.
There is something about doing journalism one’s whole life that makes it comforting to actually respond and deal with the news even when I’m in total shock, the country is supposedly under attack and my lover is treating me like I’m someone else. Then, mysteriously, Eve called. It was a voice from the past, the original person I knew, asking how I was doing and how people I knew were doing. She knows I am from New York City. It was good to hear her voice and the last time I remember her being herself. She faded away entirely after that.
The next couple of nights I was really, really scared. I was alone and I wanted to be with her in her bed. The world felt extremely creepy, like anything could happen, like I could not trust anyone or anything, like I could not lock my doors enough. I was having Nazi Germany flashbacks.
I’m already paranoid; I’ve been following the history of the Reagan/Bush regime since near the beginning, and it was just horrifying that these people were in charge. Small things kept me grounded; Steve Inskeep one of the correspondents from NPR was an old reporting colleague from New York and he was calm, his voice was really familiar and these things helped me trust what I was hearing and that we might be okay. [Steve became an important eyewitness source for my coverage one year later.]
The skies were silent. I live in the flight path to Sea-Tac and it was so strange that there were no airplanes. That was the strangest thing, and the most touching for me: a silent world, for days. I remember the first one flying over my house at about 4 a.m. three or four nights later. It woke me up. Somehow it was reassuring, the whine of those big, cozy jets going past my bed. But I did not sleep through the night for six months.
