Lemonade for March

Dear Friend & Subscriber:

Here is your Monday horoscope, a bit late, actually being sent just past midnight Tuesday. Well, now it’s just past 1 a.m. I’m one of those people who is rather extremely, at times annoyingly, sensitive to Mercury retrograde, as if I have to manually flip the polarity of every brain cell and if I forget a couple, minor chaos ensues. But then, it does clear out the psychic dust bunnies, send some new creative shockwaves, and have a funny way of revealing what’s between the layers.

And hey it is actually possible to cross an international border without one’s passport in hand.

Meanwhile, I’m going with the flow of my writing schedule and I’m going to hang as loose as necessary these days to keep things fun, i.e., when I start to stress out, I’m going to do less. Sometimes it dawns on me: um, you’re writing three editions a week, PLUS daily? Well I’m not nuts, just obsessed, and I could stand to be a little less so.

As those of you who read my blog and any therapist I’ve ever worked with can tell you, I tend to carry the weight of the world on my shoulders. And I take that pretty seriously. I don’t have the feeling that it all depends on me, but I distinctly have the feeling that I have to do my part. Where does this come from? Child neglect? Too much in the 10th house? Dharma concentrate (North Node rising)?

I don’t try to be a control freak, but basically to keep up with any professional writing schedule, you have to be something akin to one. You just have to do the work — and, note, I was one of those students who basically never did my homework. How to keep it fresh, under pressure, sometimes at enormous speed and writing, well, more than one really should? Hmmmm, thank the gods for creativity. I think in particular, Saturn. And people really do help me. A lot. And I have no reservations about this in the least, indeed it’s about half the fun of my job.

Special note to Fish People in the audience, I did not originally think the delay in Pisces Birthdays Part Two had much to do with my own solar return being in the neighborhood, but I have a feeling it does. Part Two is actually done and was done late last week (in theory, last week’s edition) but I hesitated in the midst of the Mercury storm. I may roll it out tomorrow (pretty much unedited) or send out a double Wednesday. I have the imagery for Part 3, that really right to the edge Mercury station Rx in Pisces exactly square Pluto and the Galactic Core was pretty freaking vivid and I don’t know about you, but I felt it. Then there was the Jupiter station retrograde a couple of days later. And an eclipse coming in Virgo.

These birthday essay or essays as they come out will, combined, basically apply to the range of mid Pisces birthdays and there is a lot here for everyone born in the last sign. And all people with major points in mutable signs [Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces] are under the full and rather provocative influence of some planets that are most definitely on the move.

For LEMONADE, March 2006

Aries (March 20-April 19)
Have you ever played poker? It’s a fun game, because it’s based on both luck and skill. While either can make up for the other, skill and the ability to play the game confidently are the greater part of the equation. At the moment you have both going for you. If you feel like a lot is at stake, I would say that the stars concur. Now is a time to move through the world with alertness, care and confidence, and take your chances one at a time. You will need to make decisions this month; they may feel truly life-shaping, and you can be truly grateful to have such an opportunity.

Taurus (April 19-May 20)
For once the winds of fortune are blowing stronger than the winds of fate. But no aspect of your life will move any further than your imagination leads you. Imagine that the visions of yourself and what is possible are like blueprints of the world you can build if you want. But you need the ideas, and I have no doubt that if you focus your mind, you will be able to see your future, just in time for the natural forces of life to push you gently in that direction. Then — and this is most important of all — you will need to trust.

Gemini (May 20-June 21)
With some confidence, I can predict that your professional life will take some surprising turns this month, and there really is no limit where you can go. What you cannot do, however, is cling to old ideas about what is possible, particularly if they came from your parents. If you can allow yourself to be free from all influences except the ones you choose, you will not only see your real goals, you will believe they are possible to attain, and start to make bold moves in that direction. But the key to freedom, above all else, is a truly open mind.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
There was a moment when the Beatles first arrived in the United States. They were visited in their hotel suite by a young singer named Bob Dylan. He basically said to them, you’re in a very unusual position, and a lot of people are listening to you. Why don’t you say something meaningful? And that is what they did. Right now, my Cancerian cousin, you’re in a position where you can really make a lasting mark on the world. So I’ll play the role of Dylan, and you can be the Beatles, and put it to: I suggest you do something meaningful, as you define it, because it won’t be forgotten anytime soon.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 23)
There are few subjects that deserve more attention than the power of belief. We have all seen this working. It is true that there are stronger things in the world than belief — but what we think is true works out to be the main influence over what we perceive, and thus perceive as possible. Right now the doors of what you believe are about to be blown wide open, with the result being you will have a true moment of knowing that anything is possible. And when that moment comes, I ask you: what, exactly, do you want to be possible? Think well, and remember what you come up with.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22)
There is a belief in life that everything we do involves an exchange. As a Virgo, you are often inclined to believe that the thing that must be exchanged is your identity. Now, this usually happens below consciousness. But I am sure you’ve noticed that it’s pretty easy for you to lose your independence in relationships. What happens this month will show you how this process works, and what you can do about it. Just remember that you really are the one making the choices. And that includes the choice to be entirely yourself — or to compromise that, often to your own detriment.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23)
The first thing you need to remember is that you don’t really have any control over the situation that’s unfolding in a relationship. The second thing to remember is that you’ll therefore need to work with something other than control. So what might that something be? Well, let’s see. You have learned an incredible amount about your past history and your emotional tendencies the past few months. The first decision you have is whether to respond like what is happening is happening in the past, and you’ve seen it all before; or whether it’s happening right now, and is an entirely new situation.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
The question that’s developing in your life is one of the most meaningful that a human can ask: does the work I do every day really represent who I am inside? Other people seem to put this question aside. We all hear grim stories of why people do certain kinds of work, that involve no part of their inner truth. You do not have this luxury, and you can be happy about that. The cosmic forces are guiding you firmly toward an exact alignment between the concepts of “who you are” and “what you do.” Don’t be afraid to make any change you need, because these chances don’t happen often.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22)
You’ve always been able to count on being the most adventurous person you know. If nobody else plucks up the courage to initiate a new idea, try something, go somewhere or attempt the impossible, you know you’re the one. These days, however, you seem more than ready to outdo yourself, and you stand a more than fair chance of success. The thing to avoid is taking a risk purely for the sake of it. And the thing to do is make sure your choices are directly in accord with your highest personal truth. No cheating on this one; the fact is you’re not in a position to settle for anything less.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20)
If you feel yourself being pulled in two directions, could it be that you’re afraid to make a decision? Remember, you of all people should not have to fight for what you think is right; it’s your business and you know it. So to begin with, I suggest you refuse to argue, and stop yourself cold when you’re getting defensive about what you really know is entirely your prerogative. Once you get everyone else’s opinions out of the way, you’ll get to assess whether you’re really feeling fear — and the chances are, you’ll discover that, in truth, you are not.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19)
Aquarians share a reputation for being some of the most revolutionary people in the world, and some of the most practical. I would encourage you not to compromise and think you have to be one way or the other right now. It turns out that the most innovative choice you can make or idea you can create has enormous practical value that will only increase with time. Yet it’s true that you need to cast aside all your brittle beliefs about what is possible or impossible, and go straight for what you know you want, or better still, what you know must be. Then, make it so.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Remember that you’re a work in progress, which is saying quite a lot right now. Progress has been volcanic lately, and the idea of “who you are” is bubbling and making entire new continents. Set aside the feeling of instability. Embrace the truth that you can shape your own life, and you will open up some brilliant possibilities. You’ve never been one to fear being a little strange, though you must know by now that if you proceed on the current path, strange will be an understatement — in the best possible sense of the word. You’re different, and you’re getting pretty good at it.
