Inner Space by Eric Francis
APRIL 2006
We’re still experiencing the energy ripples of two eclipses, including a solar eclipse arriving March 29, on the Aries Point. Mercury stationed direct a few days ago, and the United States charts are popping. It would seem that we’re going to be carried by the momentum of this astrology for quite a while, leading to a sense of unsettled uncertainty for some, adventure for others, and a need to hunker down and hide for still others. Just remember, it’s not really home if you don’t feel safe there. With so much energy currently in Aries and shifting into that sign, the emphasis is on taking action toward any goal — peace of mind included — rather than waiting around for it to happen.
Aries (March 20-April 19)
New ideas about yourself need expression in dwelling places, and are also a good way to emphasize the point that change has, in actual fact, taken place. You’ve just gone through one of the biggest psychic spring cleanings in the history of your existence. You can go a long way toward establishing the benefits in physical reality by clearing away old objects and other materials, specifically those that have some kind of association with any aspect of your identity you are consciously choosing to part with. We hardly miss old things when they are gone, particularly parts of our personality that we need to wipe away like so much cosmic grime.
Taurus (April 19-May 20)
You have more in common with domestic partners and family members than you may imagine, but you seem to be expressing it in different ways. To complicate matters, you are either being perceived as, or perceiving someone else as, someone who can’t make up their mind about a financial issue that should actually be pretty simple. What you want to do is avoid the situation as early as possible, establish common ground and not let it come to a standoff. It could easily go either way and you get to decide which.
Gemini (May 20-June 21)
No need to be pushy. They hear you. In fact, you would be wise to take the policy of not going blow for blow. There is a peaceful solution to everything and it starts with you. Basically, if you can avoid confrontations, you can find yourself in a real position of leadership. Part of avoiding confrontation is putting past issues with others behind you and remembering that there is plenty of common ground, which is a good thing, because everyone needs it at the moment. Just remember, in any disagreement, the burden of the idea and thus the solution is on you. Provide a way out. Offer a solution that works better than either party dreamed possible, much less likely.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
You’ve had quite an impact lately, and you now live in a significantly rearranged, greatly improved reality. In short, it’s like somebody raised the ceiling of your house, put in some skylights and replaced all the windows with the modern kind that swing open in all directions. You may see your actual physical home as little other than a collection of potentials right now, but I suggest you keep refining your drawings, testing your theories and keeping those windows opening and closing. Potential is about to turn to reality and in just a week or two you’re going to be acting on your agenda with the vengeance on dullness and boredom.
Leo (July 22-Aug. 23)
If you are reaching for something better, something more secure or more amenable to who you are, you need to know what it is, and you need to test your theory. I don’t suggest you make any moves based on principle alone, or based on what you perceive as needs that have not passed the test of time. In any event, the deck is stacked in your favor and it is clear that you are building a life that is more in line with your dreams. But not all dreams are equal, and for the next few months I suggest you prioritize.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22)
You are obviously facing challenges in your living situation but they are not the ones you think. It is less a matter of how you can endure, as you may be inclined to think, and more a matter of how excellent, innovative and exciting things can be. Changes come through a specific partnership that may take some extraordinary turns, if it has not already begun to do so. You may feel your role in the arrangement or in the decision-making process is dwarfed by much greater forces, but if you consider that you are the missing link or essential ingredient, you will notice this is the furthest thing from the truth.
Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23)
If you are finding yourself in one of those phases of your life where no living space quite seems to fit, take it as a sign that you’re on the way to getting closer to what you really need. It would be difficult to perceive or even imagine what would be right for you given the extent of the inner uncertainties you face, not to mention the situation in your partnerships that half the time is akin to looking into a foggy mirror, and the other half looking into a cosmic portal. I suggest you consider your relationships your home, and invest your energy into working for getting clear about your agenda—no matter what anyone may think about it.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
There is a dreamy quality to your home now, regardless of whose dreams they are. They may as well be yours, even if you’re not quite sure. If what you’re looking for is tangible reality, you’ll need to take a bigger risk than fantasy, and it will be a human risk that you seem perfectly aware is available, if you will make yourself available to it. At this moment, reality is more flexible than it seems, and if you follow your true inner drive, you will take advantage of this quality.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22)
There seems to be no end to the intrigue factor, which is a polite way of saying that it’s a good thing you’re a Sagittarius or you could never put up with the chaos. But it’s fertile chaos and as usual you are taking some inspiration from the goings on, even if you cannot honestly say you’re living in a little world of peace and tranquility. At least you can count on partners and loved ones for a direct answer if you ask a direct question. And in this world, that’s pretty impressive.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20)
This is a crucial time of grounding for you. You may feel quite the opposite. Indeed you may feel like your mind is a whirlwind of changes and developments that you neither understand nor can make a shred of sense out of. But there is a process in motion and your solar chart suggests that you are finding your way to stability no matter what you may feel is going on today. One particular recent event that you may have already forgotten by now offered you a glimpse of the future. Think back a moment and see if it’s really a direction in which you want to go.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19)
You have certainly had your share of turbulence as regards your living space lately. At the very least, it’s compelled you to make some decisions and get clear on what it is you really need and moreover, what you want. You have proven to yourself one of two things, or perhaps both: you can get along with others even under extreme conditions, or you really don’t care what they think and have remembered you are free to go your own way. You would be wise, however, to bear in mind all the time just what that way is.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Life has thrown you a few curveballs again, but you seem determined to rise above just about anything that happens. Your inner environment is for the moment significantly more important than your outer environment, and by inner I would count your home. For the next few weeks you still need to tread carefully so that situations you are working out don’t evolve in a negative direction, but if you pay attention to how you feel and what you observe about your feelings at all times, you should be able to keep things moving in a way you consider positive. Just keep taking one step at a time and you’ll get where you’re going.
