Important correction to the podcast. PARALLEL or COPLANAR to our ecliptic, not perpendicular. I make this error twice! The comet is very close to level with the plane of the ecliptic — our solar system — and comes into the galactic plane at an angle of 60 degrees. So it is nearly perpendicular to the glactic plane (as is our solar system).
