Aries (March 20-April 19) — You may be having your doubts at the moment, and they likely seem daunting. Yet that will pass soon enough and the internal pressure will relax. Pay attention and you’ll see that your concerns or anxieties contain an important message for you, other than the seeming topic of any disturbance. There may be something you need to say to someone that you have not acknowledged. Do your best to listen deeper than your worries, and ask yourself what the point of action is. Also, if you’re concerned that you’re too visible or out in the open for your comfort, get into the shade. You’re under no obligation to be a public figure, and your astrology at this point favors you taking some privacy and long periods of retreat and meditation — as much as you can muster on the wild ride of the 21st century. Try for a whole day, or even two. It’ll make a difference.
Taurus (April 19-May 20) — There is work to be done, and your mission is to get people together to make it easier and more effective. The old expression that many hands make light work is only true insofar as each hand knows what the other is doing. That’s the part about coordinating the efforts of the people around you, and knowing when to take a task for yourself and not assign it to anyone else. While you may need some assistance, it’s probably less rather than more, and those who would help most effectively are probably right within reach. They are likely to be busy people, as busy as you are, and their commitment must not be taken for granted. Take advantage of their help judiciously, be gracious, and be sure to return the favor as soon as you can. You’re likely to be relying on them again in the near future.
Gemini (May 20-June 21) — You will need to take decisive action this week, and the choice should be obvious. All of the other possibilities have revealed themselves to have no substance; you are aware of the one thing that seems solid, and you seem to know exactly enough to proceed. One point of hesitation may be your awareness that actions have consequences, though that is entirely the point in doing what you know to be right. The way that your chart is set up, one good decision will lead to another. A much wider world than you’ve lived in for many years is calling you. This includes a greater range geographically, socially and philosophically. These potentials will manifest and develop over time, but there will be no doubt of their reality with each decision you make and each step you take. PS — Don’t let the moral confusion of your ancestors hold you back.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Set a high standard for what you accept as valid. Part of that standard should be what affects you personally. That means not dealing in abstractions or platitudes or things that others supposedly get wrong; those things are not your concern. What is of direct, personal impact matters the most. This is a boundary, which will keep you away from hobbies, pastimes and spiritual gossip. There will be gifts that emerge from your discipline; you will have more influence over your affairs, and make better decisions. You more than most people need a direct relationship to what some call spirit or God. It does not work for you when someone else’s idea of the source of the cosmos is imposed on your experience. Have the guts to hand back ideas that are said in “you statements” rather than in “I statements.” Try to avoid telling anyone else what you think is true for them; feel free to reveal what is true for you.
Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) — A relationship that has had a certain boundless or boundaryless quality needs some attention. The edges need to be trimmed up, and a diversity of assumptions are calling for questioning and a real conversation. The notion of a boundary needs some clarification, however. It starts with the honoring of time; the ultimate limit is time running out. Then there is the honoring of clarity of speech. We are all living in the digital fog right now, where words seem to lack any verifiable meaning. Keep a dictionary handy, and know what you mean by the words that you say. Ask questions until you understand what those involved mean by what they say. This bit is crucial: connecting meaning to the words that are spoken. Go beyond inference, and beyond hints, clues and innuendo. Make sure you understand what every single word is doing there. This includes the details of financial agreements of all kinds.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Work within the limits that others set in relationships. And notice where there is an open line of communication, or some idea about life that you have in common. The limits you perceive are not absolute, and you may be included in them rather than excluded by them. The measure of your relationship is the nature of the conversations you have. We live in a time when people seem intent on disagreeing rather than finding common ground. Those with whom disagreements are an invitation to dialog are the people you want to be with. Listen carefully for when any discussion goes toward religion, by which I mean the concept of God or the gods, and how we relate to them. Usually this involves dusting off relics of ancient thought. For you, religion is about experiencing your immediate sense of belonging, and how your body feels in response to your physical environment. That will guide you toward your sense of truth and understanding.
Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) — There’s something that needs to be done, and it looks like you’re the one to do it. Once you recognize that, do not hesitate. Bring your full energy to the situation, and turn up your creativity. People are likely to respond and offer their energy to the situation; you may be in a coordinating role. The thing to be aware of is the need to take care of yourself. Pace your activities, and keep your eye on the calendar. Not everything needs to be done now, and it does not need to be done all at once. The Sun’s meeting with Saturn is suggesting you slow down; and a lot of hot rocks moving through Aquarius are urging you to take an experimental approach to whatever you do. Not wildly experimental, but rather a methodical approach that leaves some room to learn from what happens randomly, rather than what you plan or specifically intend.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) — What you want to accomplish may require more effort than you usually exert toward a goal. Or is the issue anxiety about expressing yourself in a way that will challenge authority, assert your power and maybe even get a result? Nobody can give you permission to be free — and if they do, it’s irrelevant if you don’t in some way concur and then take action. Freedom is not a concept, though it’s often sold as one. It’s more like a verb, and the action begins when you recognize that the power of choice is all you have in the world. It continues when you actually make a decision that also serves as a vote for your own existence. Implied in all of this is the potential for failure. And were the Book of Freedom written honestly, it would say: not succeeding only seems to be a risk. Your learning process begins when you cease to be paralyzed by your fears.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) — Embrace any loneliness you may feel, and remember how many people of substance and sensitivity figured out they cannot really relate to their family. You are at a new developmental stage where it seems necessary to rearrange your relationships to the elders if they are still around, and to your brood if you have children. This is a necessary step up in the world for you; the kinds of things you want to do require emotional independence. The personal challenge is that you’re someone who often needs reassurance of people’s affection for you, and at the moment they seem to be taking a tough-love stance. Humans are tribal animals, but not always born into their correct tribe. And usually, you have to find yourself before they find you. Events of the spring are about bold self-expression and you finally taking the kinds of risks few others would take. You don’t need anybody else but you to sign off; everything is your call.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) — The Sun’s conjunction to your beloved Saturn is encouraging you to keep your lips sealed about matters of business and your personal affairs. It’s not that you’re a yente, but you can at times say something casually that you might regret. You’re also getting reminders to attend to business, which at the moment means securing your reputation for what you do best. In fact there is at least one topic about which you’re an actual authority (with a portfolio), and you can make that fact known to whom it may concern. Yet the way to sell yourself is to undersell: you’re at your most convincing when you make your words few and meaningful. Then pay attention to how people respond. The world is accustomed to so much hype and puffery that a calm, cool approach will get attention. People are used to getting screwed over, so show up on time, ready to work, and build the confidence of those whom you serve.

The Solstice Point — 2024 Astrology Studio for Capricorn — is a special edition helping you put the pieces of Pluto in Capricorn together. I look forward, but this is mostly a review and debriefing of your experience since 2008. I will highlight key dates and take a close look at what this transit has meant. I will include a review of Chiron in Aries as well as new factors now in Capricorn that will be present well into the next decade. This is a distinct reading covering different material than Somewhere In Between for Capricorn.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) — The Sun’s meeting with Saturn this week is encouraging you (if you have not already noticed) to get your financial house in order. The way this chart looks, your emphasis should go to paring back expenses rather than generating income. Economy will multiply efficiency and the result will be greater gains – but for now, the low-hanging fruit is to not spend what you don’t need to spend. We’ve both seen this happen 50 times, if I’m not mistaken: you think you need some monthly expense, or to make what seems like a necessary upgrade or replacement, but it’s just not true. You could feed yourself for a few weeks sussing out all of the various entities that are overcharging you. Maybe read your cellphone bill and better yet, your credit card bill. An entire segment of the economy is supported by overcharges. I think you will find that this process helps you feel good about yourself. And it’s an easy game you will enjoy winning.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) — The current triple conjunction between Mercury, the Sun and Saturn is encouraging you to focus on your one most important goal. The world is a busy box right now, and all you need to do is glance at your phone and you have 100 options for what to do. Yet in truth there is one thing. You don’t need to use force, only focus. Clear anything unnecessary from your schedule, particularly during what you know are likely to be productive hours. Leave yourself long stretches of time to accomplish tasks in excellent form — adequate is not enough. Strive not for perfection but for excellent quality work. This is not just about the results; it’s about your creative process, which is the result of a state of mind. Speaking of, this would be a fine time to minimize the mood-altering substances and make sure you get enough rest to be productive in the morning.
