Sagittarius New Moon on the Great Heaven

Dear Friend and Reader:

This will be another week of unusual astrology, which will intensify over the next five or six days. I'm going to provide a rundown of the basics, with some practical ideas and philosophy. We all read a lot on the internet, and the stream of 'content' goes by so fast it's difficult to remember what you learned. So, I'll send this letter out again on Tuesday evening, as a reminder.

The current astrology may enhance the condition of forgetting what you learn, or what you know, and arrive with various forms of false certainty, including the notion that you're not really so vulnerable (when in fact we need to be monitoring our vulnerabilities carefully this week).

And, as a corollary, some unusually positive developments are possible, particularly if you proceed with awareness, curiosity and a modicum of sincere caution. This must include a devotion to truth that includes withholding judgment, speaking only of what you have verified or are actively investigating (i.e., no gossip), and being cautious against believing potential deception coming from others.

Fraud has two elements: what is said, and what is believed. At a certain point the person who is being lied to is responsible for what they know and putting the elements together. The burden shifts from the liar to the one being lied to. This is both a legal principle and a moral one.

When it happens, most people figure out that they're being lied to, but that's an inconvenient truth. You will need to go out of your way this week to see what is happening in your environment, and to put the elements together. Information will seem to cascade out from Wednesday through Saturday, including some significant revelations.

I suggest postponing acting on your perceptions and newfound knowledge until Monday, Dec. 10 at the earliest. Right now patience is essential, and as the week develops, it may be increasingly difficult to access within yourself. That does not mean impossible.

Here are the three main factors involved, which happen nearly simultaneously:

Mercury stations direct in Scorpio. This takes place Thursday, Dec. 6, at 4:22 pm EST. Through the week we will be in what some astrologers call Mercury storm, when Mercury is very close to its stationary direct point. Most of the retrograde has been in Sagittarius, though the tail end is in Scorpio. In many ways Scorpio is a repository of secrets.

Mercury direct has a way of shaking out concealed information, though this has as prerequisites: 1. Paying attention and 2. Maintaining some objectivity. Otherwise, you might not notice what you could easily benefit from. Pay attention to any reasons you might have not to be interested in the truth.

Mercury will station direct trine Chiron in Pisces (an aspect it will hold all week). This to me says, "You will be told everything you need to know."

New Moon in Sagittarius, conjunct the Great Attractor. This is overnight Thursday to Friday, 2:20 am EST. The Moon-Sun conjunction aligns to about one degree with the Great Attractor. This is the focal point of our supercluster of 100,000 galaxies, spread out over 520 million light years. (This supercluster includes the Milky Way; we live in this thing). It's located in mid-Sagittarius [see video here].

The Great Attractor (the central feature in the Laniakea Supercluster of galaxies) has a way of polarizing things. This can seem to act 'unconsciously', as a kind of internal pressure to push issues, for example. People with strong Great Attractor aspects can come under attack and be unhurt by the slings and arrows.

Laniakea (or Great Heaven) is a deeply spiritual force, which I believe is the physical source or origin of concepts like Shamballa. It's also a new factor and has received little in the way of serious research by astrologers (we at Planet Waves have been on the case since about 2002; it was discovered in 1986, with Chiron in Gemini exactly opposite it. The most recent developments came just four years ago, in 2014.)

Mars conjunct Neptune in Pisces. This is the tricky part, because it adds the elements of imagination and inspiration -- and also delusion, deception and self-destruction. The Moon and the Sun square this point, and squares to Neptune can be challenging and slippery, particularly with Mars involved as an accelerant.

Squares of any kind demand integrity (trines request it politely, or offer it). Squares to Mars-Neptune make integrity a real challenge, and it must begin with being honest with yourself.

Here's the problem with that. Being real with yourself implies that you will act on what you know; and the remedy for that is not being real -- hence its appeal.

We are in another situation (not mentioned here) involving Saturn in Capricorn conjunct two special points, Hades and Kronos. There is a real struggle to take responsibility here, one that is affecting all of society and its institutions at the moment.

But this will only influence you if you let it; your options for action remain open. That starts with claiming your life every day.

Big Week Coming in Special Counsel Investigation

As the New Moon described above approaches -- square Mars and Neptune -- we are about to experience one heck of a week in the investigation of Donald Trump's involvement with the Russians. This involvement dates back to the 2002 Miss Universe pageant, held in San Juan, when a Russian woman was crowned in an event apparently rigged by Trump.

As Rachel Maddow reported on Friday night, the core of the central Russia deal is: drop Ukraine-invasion-related U.S. sanctions in exchange for agreeing to build Trump Tower Moscow as part of an arrangement to get financing for the tower -- all documented. This video is as good as anything I've read on this issue, and comports with journalist and law professor Seth Abramson's ongoing work.

This action (seemingly) all stops on June 14, 2016, when The Washington Post breaks news of the Russian cyber break-in of the Democrats.

The idea of the Trump Tower lure was to build up kompromat (compromising material, or leverage against Trump.) As part of this deal, Trump -- while he is the presumptive Republican nominee -- offers Putin the entire top floor apartment of the building -- worth $50 million.

The probability is that this was all a setup by the Russians to compromise Trump. And as part of that compromise, they helped sway the election for him, to get him into office, so he could be useful -- and compromised.

It takes her about 25 minutes to connect the dots. Former Trump advisor Michael Flynn is at the center; Michael Cohen (Trump's lawyer) is right there; as is K.T. McFarland (Flynn's assistant, and a former Fox News commentator); and this is all kompromat -- on the Russian end, not a deal but a plan to compromise Trump, in pure Russian style: government by blackmail.

Trump constantly says that he had, "No dealings with Russia; no deals with Russia; nothing to do with Russia."

Then, everyone involved lies to the FBI, Congress, press, Mueller, etc., and everyone gets caught (all are felonies except lying to the press). All the confirmation comes out with Cohen's guilty plea last week. He pleaded guilty to lying to Congress about these matters.

As the astrology heats up, we are likely to learn a lot more this week.

A Vast Migration of Souls, from The Book of Your Life

The astronomical details of Sagittarius are breathtaking, and you deserve to know them. They will shed light on who you are, and what you're doing on Earth. Typically, astrology ignores the features of deep space (dwelling on the Sun, the Moon and the larger planets). Features of the signs are based on some mythical sketch that appears in patterns of stars, spun into myths that have no actual reference to anything in reality.

There's not actually a bull in Taurus. There are no fish in Pisces. However, Sagittarius is different from all other signs in this regard. Our Gifts to You: A Little Something Extra

Dear Friend and Reader:

It took me a long time to figure out what kind of gift to offer for new and returning subscribers. Tee shirts seemed too complicated; you need at least six sizes to get started, and not everyone wants a shirt. Tote bags are useful but kind of boring.

So I thought: journals. I love notebooks, and just about everything I write starts scribbled down on paper. I know my readers are a little old-fashioned, so this seemed like the perfect thing.

Black smaller, pink larger, embossed with the Planet Waves logo. There are a few hand-painted sketchbooks left, with heavy, acid-free paper.

Then...I researched embossed journals for about six months. That's how long it took. I requested or purchased samples of the best that suppliers had, and all kinds of stuff came floating in the door. It was more challenging than I imagined to find a nice one, though finally I did.

Everything had to be right: the paper, the lines, and how the book feels in your hands.

However, the one I selected was being discontinued. I ordered as many as we could reasonably afford. We now have two main options: small black ones, and larger pink ones (these are new).

Together, they are the approximate color of Good & Plenty candy. I am one of these people who loves anything pink (sweatshirts, nail polish, headbands, a hot pink Squier guitar that I gave to Zosha a few years ago). We also have a few hand-painted notebooks left, which are acid-free sketchbooks.

Monthly Horoscopes and Publishing Schedule Notes

We published your extended monthly horoscopes for November on Wednesday, Nov. 7. Your extended monthly horoscopes for October were published on Tuesday, Oct. 11. Please note: we normally publish the extended monthly horoscope after the Sun has entered a new sign. Aries (March 20-April 19) -- It is said that faith can move mountains. I would translate that to: If you have faith in yourself, you can do nearly anything you set out to do, including what you thought was impossible. It would seem that at this stage of your growth, your ability to trust yourself and your abilities is being tested. However, unlike in some recent episodes of your life, this pressure is coming from within you, rather from around you. Your tendency to doubt yourself is again bubbling to the surface. If you tune in closely, you will notice that this is a form of fear, sometimes subtle, sometimes obvious. This, in turn, is messing with your motivation. The ability to dare is rarely considered an act of the imagination, though you might try considering that. Can you imagine the possibility of something manifesting, and allow that to be a source of strength? Can you have the flexibility adapt to the changing conditions within your mind and your emotions? Taurus (April 19-May 20) -- Recent activity in your opposite sign Scorpio looks like it's helping you clarify some situations involving close partners. Cancer (June 21-July 22) -- You're finally at a turning point you can understand, and can act on. This is a long-range process, not something connected to this week or this month. However, you're getting the message right now that it's time to orient yourself not just on new goals but on a whole new position in life. The feeling is more like finding or discovering yourself than it is like making radical changes. Saturn's presence in Capricorn, your opposite sign (relationships, environment) is helping you set limits and also work within certain limitations. However, you might say that the theme of your solar chart, in total, is that necessity is the mother of invention. And now, you get to reinvent the direction of your life. You have an idea brewing; you are not just at a turning point, you may be at the place where the road branches. Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) -- You may be inclined to push a limit or test a boundary, though before you do that, you might want to check on the impact or influence you already have. The chances are, it's much more than you may think. Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) -- Your mind tends to have two settings -- very narrow, and very wide. You tend to go into narrow setting when you're focused on self-interest, usually in a form that doesn't actually help you. Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) -- If you've made any questionable financial decisions the past few weeks, you still have time to reverse them, or mitigate the damage. Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) -- This week's astrology may encourage you to push all limits, though you will want to choose certain specific ones, not all of them. The simplest way to say this is that you know right from wrong. As long as you stick to doing what is right, you can pretty much take things as far as you want to go. The planets are warning you not to get involved in anything self-destructive. Now, by one measure, that would include most of American culture, so you will need to narrow that down. Stay sober in the times and places you need to be sober. Open up to intimacy with people you're pretty sure care about you. If you're going to make art using any toxic substances, be sure to vent the space. Be careful when handling fire, be it emotional or elemental. I guess what I'm saying here is have fun and explore -- and also, know your limits, respect your own integrity and respect the law. Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) -- This week's visionary New Moon in your sign (exact Friday at 2:20 am EST / 7:20:15 UTC) can help you bring out the very best in who you are. And it can bring out the worst, too, if you allow your insecurities to get control of you. One of the essential necessities during the coming seasons will be to maintain your sense of proportion. Keep your efforts, and your energy, close to you. Pay attention to what is going on in your home. Notice whether you're responding or reacting in any situation, again, primarily at home though anywhere that an issue of personal confidence is concerned. Under the current astrology, it's necessary that you maintain vigilance where any self-destructive tendencies are concerned. These would include any form of self-deception that you might practice, though this means you becoming the mediator of whether you're being honest with yourself. Err on the side of caution; demand proof from yourself where your perceptions are concerned, if you are making judgments. And then practice forgiveness, as daily yoga. Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) -- You may experience thoughts and feelings that seem bigger than you, right on up to what you consider overwhelming. You might tap into what feels like "the infinite," or feel some presence of divine awareness working through you. Don't take these things so seriously. Other aspect patterns describe a serious need to contain yourself, and to focus on the practical; yet others warn that you might be taking an unrealistic position and thinking of it as verified truth. This is not a good time to push limits when it comes to determining for yourself what is real. It is, though, an excellent time to experiment with your creative process, in whatever form that takes. The beautiful thing about art is that it's neither true nor false. There is nothing to prove, and nothing that can be proven. When you feel like you're alive and expressing yourself in your own original way, that is art. When you decide that you are right, and that what you think is true in any absolute way, that is dogma. Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) -- It would be a good idea to practice the notion that the best things in life are free. That will prevent you from wasting money, and at the same time, guide you to emphasize what is naturally available in your environment. The caution around finances should be coming through every daily horoscope in the world this week, with the combination of Mercury changing directions, and Mars meeting up with Neptune in your house of finances and resources. That's reason to slow down the movie where financial commitments and cash outlay are concerned, with an additional layer of caution that such might be related to spending money to feel better about yourself, or to compensate for something you feel you've lost. Yet what you may not see is that what you perceive as a loss is really an opening that you would not have had otherwise. An opening is also a vulnerability, and you will need to treat this with care, and go out of your way this week to treat others with respect. Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) -- This week's extraordinary astrology influences Pisces Sun, Moon and rising perhaps more than any other sign, as a major feature takes place at the center of your zone of the zodiac. This aspect is Mars conjunct Neptune, which will seem to give you enhanced powers of perception, clairvoyance and intuition. Yet what you perceive through these channels is not enough information to work with, and it might even be wrong. And what you think you know is certainly not enough to act on without further validation, with additional need for caution coming from Mercury stationing direct later this week, just as Mars-Neptune is at peak intensity. Meanwhile, other activity in your house of accomplishment, responsibility and direction will have you reaching for some unusual success, or feeling like you can and must promote yourself in some way. You will be convincing, though the burden is on you to be honest. No actual success comes from anything other than integrity -- not the way I define success, anyway.
