Spring 2019 Class Offerings by Eric Francis
Dear Friend and Reader:
I'm happy to announce my offering of classes for the spring semester of 2019. Teaching astrology is one of my favorite things to do. The class offerings below focus specific topics that are of interest and practical value. In case you've taken similar classes from me, I'll be using new approaches for our new moment.
Each class will be recorded and made available as a download to students.
Additionally, well before the class, I will distribute a 90-minute prep class called Introduction to Astrology, which covers the basics. All students will also receive a PDF of my new book, Astrology Revealed.
As you know from my writing and broadcasts, my approach to the work is down-to-earth and human centered. Of course, I offer some theory and history, though my goal is to get you into the work, so that you can learn from practice -- whether you're reading your own chart, those of friends, or have professional aspirations.
The classes last about three hours. By request of my students, I have varied the time slots when the classes are offered. Astrology Revealed is on a Saturday in March; Introduction to Chiron is on a Sunday in April, though later in the day; and Key Life Transits will be two consecutive Friday evenings in June (see below for exact dates). For those unable to attend the live class, the recording will be available immediately, as will participation in the email discussion list.
You will notice that each of these classes carries one certification point; I am now developing a certificate program in astrology. I will have the details on that soon, though the first-level certificate will be 22 credits, which will include classes, mentoring or apprenticeship, self-study, therapy, therapy training, credit for prior experience, and of course, some writing. If you are interested (or potentially interested) in certification, please write to me.
The classes below are conducted via audio teleconference, with materials distributed by internet. Note that we don't use the presentation feature of our teleconference program, as it's too cumbersome.

Eric Francis will introduce tools and techniques that he's developed, from personal study and experience with clients, which will help you put your chart to work for you. Astrology is a growth tool, an inventory of your resources, a guide to your relationships, and a picture of your mission on the planet. Class will be part lecture, part discussion, and part chart reading demonstration with a live client.
Class includes many chart reading resources, recording, and discussion list for Q&A. Tuition is $111, with substantial discounts for Core Community and for Backstage Pass. Class counts for one certification credit. Proceeds benefit Chiron Return, Inc.

In her book Bringers of the Dawn, Barbara Marciniak introduces the idea of the system buster: someone whose role is to shake up the established order and bring in something new. That's one purpose that Chiron plays in astrology: finding the fulcrum of change, or the weak link in any system, and revealing a place where change is necessary, and then providing a corrective force. Class will cover Chiron in Aries, natal Chiron, transits of Chiron (done with a live client), and the major themes of healing, mentorship and handling ancestral material. Class will be part lecture, part discussion, part chart reading demonstration with a live client.
Both of the classes above combined: $188, $166 for Core Community, $144 for Backstage Pass.

Barbara Hand Clow popularized the term "key life transits" in her book The Liquid Light of Sex. I picked up on the idea, and starting in the mid-1990s, have explored the lifetime transits of more than 1,000 clients. I have come to call them "threshold transits" -- gateways and points of no return, which flow together as one lifetime pattern. In addition to Chiron transits, there are Pluto square Pluto, Neptune square Neptune, the returns of Saturn, Uranus opposite Uranus and the Uranus return. We will talk about these transits in theory, and also see how they work in the lives of class participants.
Class includes many resources, recording, and discussion list for Q&A. Tuition is $111, with substantial discounts for Core Community and for Backstage Pass. Class counts for one certification credit. Proceeds benefit Chiron Return, Inc.

Chiron and centaur section in my personal library, including my collection of editions of Barbara's book. Debbi Kempton-Smith, though not a Chiron specialist, was mentored by a man named Al Morrison, who helped lead the charge for Chiron in the early 1980s. I know and have discussed Chiron with most of these authors, and have had some of my most interesting conversations about minor planets with Rob Hand.
