Moonshine Horoscopes -- 2nd Aquarius Full Moon Edition

Today is the Aquarius Full Moon, just before 9:45 pm EDT -- the second Aquarius Full Moon of 2013. (View full chart here.) Genevieve Hathaway has interpreted this lunation for each of the 12 Moon signs in her horoscopes below. The Sun is in the last degrees of Leo, about to ingress Virgo.

The Sun's closeness to the edge of a sign can be stressful, provocative of change and calling for awareness. Add the Full Moon and the effect is multiplied. Remember that, and do what you can to pace yourself and monitor your emotional energy.

Today's Full Moon features the Sun in the next-to-last degree of Leo, conjunct Ceres and with Mercury not too far away. The Moon in Aquarius is conjunct the centaur planet Nessus. All those planets in late degrees can feel ‘edgy’, and the presence of a centaur increases that feeling -- adding to your typical Full Moon effect.
 
The combination of an Aquarius Moon with a centaur planet -- particularly Nessus -- says to be alert to the potential to fix emotional patterns in place, rather than releasing them. Full Moons mirror our inner material back to us through our relationships; with Nessus, that material relates to old patterns of abuse (often familial/ancestral or social, and often with sexual overtones).
 
Nessus also brings the ability to stop the proverbial buck with these patterns. In Aquarius, we've been seeing these themes play out in social contexts, including with peer pressure and sexual hypocrisy.
 
We don't tend to think of the Sun as our line-in to our empathy, but in Leo it becomes something like that (compared to the more mental Aquarius Moon): a way to stay heart-centered and able to radiate warmth. Jupiter in Cancer is basically standing in for the Moon’s usual emotional fluidity today, expanding those qualities. Jupiter is exactly trine Chiron in Pisces, offering some flow as an alternative to the polarizing effect of the Full Moon.
 
You might have to get a little creative with it, leaving yourself literal reminder notes as to what you'd like to heal and release rather than set in stone and perpetuate. But the option is there -- and no one else can do it for you. You're the one who can stop the buck.

Aries (March 20-April 19) -- You've been distinctly aware of the pervasive emotional abuse that so many people in our society live with. I don't mean only those individuals who were actually abused as children, but also those in shame about their sexual identities. This knowledge you carry may feel isolating; like you were the only one who acknowledged what was going on. Yet this material is collective pain; we each have a stake in helping the whole society heal through doing our own personal healing work. Over this week's Full Moon (exact tonight), a message you've been putting out there for a while is finally making waves in your larger community. Taurus (April 19-May 20) -- You've recently been through a series of changes in your career, which redirected your inquiry from what you do to make money to an inquiry about who you are authentically. The idea you've been working with centers on your career as an extension of your authentic self, supporting your higher purpose. As you move through these changes, continue holding a vision for your life that is grounded in your core desires. I suggest not giving any time or energy to feelings of self-doubt that may arise; you do not actually lack anything needed to make the changes you wish. Gemini (May 20-June 21) -- An idea you are trying to communicate to a close partner may initially be frustrating you, like you can't quite find the words to translate an emotional experience. This emotional concept that you are trying to convey has had a distinct effect on your personal philosophy. As you continue to work the fine line between understanding the feelings and translating them, I suggest looking at the role of fear -- not just in your life, but in your parents' lives, their parents' lives and so on, going back a few generations. By fear, I mean feelings that tell you not to honor who you genuinely are. Cancer (June 21-July 22) -- You are now gaining insight into your personal resources. I propose that your emotions are one of your most important tools to draw on, and one of your strongest assets in helping you reach your current goals is your social network. Being able to connect emotionally and maintain that connection is what lets you build that network. You can stand apart from your own emotional body while you walk with others on a journey through their emotions. Notice how others lean on you for emotional support; you play a larger role in friends' support systems than you may realize. Remember, this is a two-way street; as others lean on you for support, I suggest reaching out to the very network you support when you need help. Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) -- The current astrology is highlighting your concept of relationships, specifically the role you play in building the kind of relationship you envision. What you are making contact with is the weight your actions carry. You are the steward of your actions in your relationships. I suggest thinking of your actions as having the power to build the relationships you want, as well as maintaining healthy boundaries in those relationships. Those feelings point to what you are healing. As you work through and heal these painful internal dynamics, it may come with a moment that feels like drawing a line in the sand or a realization that the old patterns stop now and you are determined not to continue them. Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) -- This week's Aquarius Full Moon is highlighting a point of internal tension you are working through. It may feel as if you are in a heated dialogue with yourself where both sides are speaking in different languages. One internal voice wants to create a new future, while the other voice is trying to stay tied to the past. As the Sun and Moon make an opposition this week, you are gaining a new perspective that will aid you in resolving this internal dilemma. The two voices are really part of the same continuum, one showing you where you have been and the other pulling you along to where you are going. Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) -- You are de-cluttering some internal emotional space. You can think of this process as having knocked down some walls that represented emotional blocks and wounds, and now you have a broom in hand and are sweeping up the debris. With these walls removed you can now see for a long, long way through your internal space. I suggest taking the next few weeks to nurture yourself. Do less and spend more time on you as you work on this metaphorical internal house cleaning. At times this may leave you feeling off kilter or disconnected from your previous identity. What you are gaining is a greater sense of balance and harmony. Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) -- At times, life can seem like a long story of others trying to deter you from being yourself, and to some extent this is true. To change this situation does not involve changing others, rather it involves you re-establishing your important boundaries and holding others to those boundaries. This may come with a feeling of danger as you require others to respect the new ground rules you're laying -- a sensation that stems from the lack of control you have over how other people respond. I suggest you view this moment less as potentially pushing others away and more as a moment when you declare the kinds of people you want around you. Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) -- This week a second Full Moon takes place in your Moon sign, bringing you full circle in a process of healing you began over a year ago. You are in a moment of completion -- wrapping up a healing process regarding sex or emotions stemming from a power struggle in your family. This wound actually goes back generations, being passed down from parents to children until it reached you. As you reach the end of this cycle, it may come with a burst of defiant energy -- the sensation that the pattern stops with you and goes no further. This energy can feel slightly dangerous, like a tinderbox that could explode at any moment.
