Dear Friend and Reader: AS YOU may have noticed, we are working on our cover again. The challenge, we felt, was to make it more accessible to new readers. I was talking to a friend the other night about this project and he kept asking, "Yes but what is Planet Waves?" Therefore the challenge of presenting ourselves differently then had two aims: a sense of ease and welcoming, and something that helped us focus our purpose in the minds of people who have not already figured out what that purpose is. Then there is a third mission. We need to convey to you that we are a subscriber supported project. We present an enormous amount of what's called "free content" -- but it's not free in the sense that our writers and artists create it themselves, having worked for years to develop what they do. These writers include Kirsti Melto, a Finnish astrologer who writes about the Full Moon, the New Moon and minor planets; Steve Bergstein, a civil rights attorney who writes about both law and rock music; Beth Vella, who has taken over my long-dreamed-of Cumout erotic blog; and many other writers who I will introduce or reintroduce to you in the coming days. You may ask what kind of freaky astrology website has a civil rights feature (quoted recently by the Washington Post) and a blog about how you can have better orgasms. I'll tell you: It's called Planet Waves. As for what I do -- I write something called Planet Waves Astrology News, a one-of-a-kind internet magazine that publishes in the long edition each Friday and a supplement each Monday. This is where you find my latest weekly horoscope, my introspective exploration of world events and articles that teach you how astrology shapes your life and the world. Two of my horoscopes are available on the free side of the website, both of them monthly. For the detailed chronology of your inner story, the weekly horoscope is the place to look. Most of our creative team is now involved creating Small World Stories, the annual edition of Planet Waves. We go through this ritual every year, creating a map of consciousness for the next four seasons.
