Planet Waves Weekly Horoscope for July 30, 1999 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
Aries (March 20-April 19) -- Two opinionated comments. By this point you should have a fairly good view of the social-political-sexual landscape. You know what you are facing, and why. If not, then stand on a high object and look around. In this situation, the obvious one, it will probably work better to be subversive than to go blow for blow. I mean, it's like, digital technology saves heat and works better. Deuxieme, sex-check-in. In my reasonably objective reading of the sky, you ought to be at your most orgasmic, your most celestially horny, and most magnetic to the straight-forward vibes of other delicious-smelling fountains of pheromones. This is good. The heat, the delightful exercise in vulnerability, mmm. Healthy.
Taurus (April 19-May 20) -- Astrotechnology report: Lead story besides the e-clips, and cute little Mercury tricking everyone into thinking they are having computer catastrophes. Venus is going retrograde, which don't happen so very often. Venus is also in Virgo. Some astrologers are totally confused; this is not a bad thing. Grok this: Venus is the planet of intelligence. Emotional intelligence, the wisdom of love, the instinctual/intuitive data processing of the heart-mind at its best. Venus is sexy as a 21-year-old wood nymph with a Capricorn moon, very true, but she's equally a scholar. The Venus retrograde in Virgo is compatible with the smartest wavelength of who you are, the see-through sorcerer, the penetrating artist. Venus is blessing you; drink her in.
Gemini (May 20-June 21) -- Current astrological conditions are such that weird ideas are extremely valuable, both as artistic or teaching devices, and as business ventures. I don't know, something about this Mercury retrograde in Leo is reminding me of how open people are to seeing things new ways at present, and not only that, the big 8/11 solar eclipse happens in your eleventh solar house, which embraces subject matter such as how well you get paid for the work you do so well, and how many people appreciate you for the fun person you are. There are big openings for you in these dimensions of life, and furthermore, I am just about certain you are at your most brilliant, demented and enlightened all at once. Put it together.
Eric has now published your complete Gemini birthday reading, comprising well over an hour of excellent insights. Order here to get instant access, whether for yourself or the Gemini you love.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) -- Cancer and Aquarius exist in a tense, exciting relationship, and the recent lunar eclipse in the wavy sign, the green electric zone where it's so cool they're naming an entire aeon after it -- the Age of Aquarius -- should be keeping you well-charged and brightly lit. Both the Taurus and Gemini horoscopes well apply to important aspects of your life, particularly if you are in the "new start" phase already, but you have special needs because your root system is so sensitive. Stay grounded. Even if you have to travel these days, know where you are, make sure you have a place you call home all the time, and give yourself plenty of quiet space-time. A whole gigabyte of data is about to enter your mind, and some of it is pretty wild.
Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) -- Easy does it. Remember that what is happening was, in a sense, long pre-destined, or rather, was included as part of a well thought-out plan. Go back about 18 years if you are searching for more information about the roots of what is occurring in your life (if you are under 18 years old, talk to your parents about what was going on in their lives around 1981). No matter how much it may feel like the world is shaking, no matter how profound the changes you are being called upon to make, in reality you stand on very solid ground, your needs are taken care of, and all you have to do is consciously process your feelings so your thoughts will have a little more room to take form.
The first astrology segment of your 2017-18 Leo Birthday Reading by Eric is now published. This is a seminal year for Leo Sun, rising and Moon, especially with the upcoming powerful solar eclipse in your sign. Make this dynamic energy work for you -- order your reading today.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) -- Chiron and Juno, two members of the so-called "minor" planet class, but in reality star players in the field of reality, are now doing a very interesting love dance in Scorpio. Juno, the second asteroid ever discovered, represents all our ideas about "serious relationships," and is associated with everything from the desire for monogamous relationships, to scorekeeping issues within couples. Chiron, your ruling planet, is the healer of astrology, and combining their forces, it's as if a whole new set of relationship rules is being worked out -- ones we really can live with. It's up to you to set the example of responsible, trustworthy emotional and sexual friendship.
Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) -- Yours is the sign of balance, and the balance I see you seeking involves knowing everything there is to know about as much as possible. This magnificent tendency somewhat counterbalances the corresponding urge to gross ignorance prevalent in the Western Mind and Western Civ, but I suggest you not let this stop you from connecting with like minds and like hearts who know, simple and plain, which way the wind is blowing. You may feel like you are way out-there, and you are indeed tapping into some very cosmic stuff. But your ideas are not as strange as it may now seem, and you have far more to contribute to current changes than you've imagined.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) -- Understanding the dynamics of relationships is very important right now. This is an old skill of yours, perhaps neglected or abandoned, but actually in quite good condition if you will only call on it. It would appear to me that you and a person close to you have very different feelings about something. Yet I assure you, there is no point trying to change this person, and a great value to working for a real exchange of information. Meanwhile, tend to your own passions. For one thing, nobody else should be the arbiter of your satisfaction. For another, you are very much playing a starring role in world affairs, and this comes with privileges.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) -- Now let's see, what's the most important thing going on for the Sign of the Centaur? Well, first of all, read Virgo; Chiron has as much to do with your tribe as it does with the Goddess People, but the Sagittarian twist is vision rather than healing. We need new ideas about marriage, which will require both vision and healing. I recently attended a conference where the Polyamorous People of the world gathered, the responsibly nonmonogamous, in their dancing families of three and five and eight, sharing data about life, commitment, and how to stay open-minded about the possibilities. Most one-on-one couples, in my barely-humble opinion, need to do some renegotiating the terms of reality as well; monogamy's one thing; taking human property is another.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) -- Following the theme of relationships that keeps popping up as I innocently sit here writing, and since so much about your relationships is likely to be changing so fast and so vast, I would like to recommend a few of the best books on the theme I've so far discovered: Sex for One by Betty Dodson, Radical Honesty by Brad Blanton, The Ethical Slut by Dossie Easton and Catherine Liszt, and Monogamy by Adam Phillips. Plus a link: "Jealousy and the Abyss" by William Pennell Rock. Meanwhile, I suggest you devote at least two-thirds of your sexual time and energy to solo activities these very days. It's possible to go astonishing places with yourself that are difficult to reach with another person present, and that particular pot is simmering.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) -- When going against the current, it is usually better to move gradually toward shore, but when confronted by a wave, it's usually better to dive straight in. It may seem terrifying in the moment immediately before the plunge, but on the other side you realize that you're suddenly in calm water and were barely aware of the wave crashing into the shore way behind you. Such are apt physical metaphors for the various emotional aquatic conditions you may find yourself faced with these hours and says. In short -- work with the current, gently beating it at its own game, while diving straight into and through any waves or human waves that come your way. And say hi to the fish.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) -- The real meaning of recent events is likely to be surfacing, at least on the level of how you feel about what's occurred, and what continues to unfold, no matter how unusual, abstract or amazing it all seems. Stay with your feelings, tempted as you may be to put the whole thing into intellectual terms. If you're going to do any conversions, feelings-to-art will be tons more fun and productive than feelings-to-mental analysis. Just get your story across, get your sentiments across, as best you can, allowing the miracle human vibration (simpatico) to do most of the communicating for you -- both the speaking, and the listening, by the way.
For the Faithful
I thought of an idea for an eclipse ritual today. It's a little daring, but let's see how it looks. Write out all your worst nightmares, on paper; don't make another copy, and don't show it to anyone. Make a detailed accounting of your private hell, all that you fear the most in all the world, all the universe. Then at the moment of the eclipse, take this list of horrors and burn it. Obviously pick a safe place to ignite the flames of transformation, and allow all of it to vanish into the cosmos, and ask spirit to relieve you from all thought or consideration of these concerns. The eclipse is at 6:09 am EDT on Weds., Aug. 11.
