Stormy Mercury, and What's New on Planet Waves Dear Friend and Reader: Thursday Mercury stations retrograde in Taurus at about 1:20 pm EDT (17:20 UTC), which means we are fully in the shadow phase. Have you noticed any glitches, unusual slowness or near misses of any sort yet? How about an urge to take your time doing things your way?
You might also pay particular attention to what you learn from tangible experiences and travel -- including simply what you notice about your body as you move from one position to another. How do you feel about how it feels? Mercury stations retrograde in a conjunction to the asteroid Vesta, and also sextile Chiron in Pisces. I see here a message to get creative, get physical, get grounded and also to open up to the flow of erotic energy within you -- along with the emotions it generates -- with an eye toward healing something from the past. I realize this is painful territory for some, and exciting for others. It's a wise time to tread on the easier end of the spectrum when it comes to asserting points of view and finalizing decisions. Rob Moore recounts an unfortunate instance of pushing a point too hard with a new amour, and suggests offering up decisions and actions to our personal 'source' for guidance and peace.  Sarah Taylor explores The Devil card, "a convenient and highly effective mythos that relegates those fear-enwrapped desires," and suggests that it may not be what you think it is. In fact, having come so far -- and knowing what you do -- The Devil, and the two cards that flank it, may hold the key to your liberation.  What seems like a random urge to listen to a mid-1980s Amy Grant album becomes an awe-inspiring synchronicity, leading Amanda Moreno to an especially powerful event from her childhood. As problematic as Christianity is, its purest messages about love and compassion can ring out through song in compelling ways.  Fe Bongolan is voting for Hillary Clinton. Clinton was not her first choice, and neither was Bernie Sanders: it was Elizabeth Warren. We need a competent, compassionate public servant in the Oval Office. We also need to vote in every election from local school boards on up to get a functional government again.  Len Wallick notes that during the Mercury retrograde that begins Thursday in Taurus, Mercury will cross the face of the Sun on May 9. In effect, this is an eclipse -- and therefore an event you can begin planning now to see (with eye protection), and whose benefits you can consciously reap with perspective.  The New York primary has taken place. Bernie Sanders closed the 40-point divide Hillary Clinton held to come within a dozen or so, but it wasn't enough to impact Gotham, where capitalism makes its decisions behind closed boardroom doors. Judith Gayle suggests none of this is really a surprise.
