"Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."

If Your Birthday is Nov. 29
(The Day of the Instigator) | Sagittarius Birthday Reading | All Other Signs
It's time to allow your wild streak out of the yard. You are a fireball of creativity, sex mojo and the craving for adventure. One way or another you're going to experience these things, so you may as well have fun. The more consciously you experiment, the more reasonable and wholesome risks you'll take. If you suppress these desires, they will revolt.

Written in the Planets
What do oatmeal and feeling free in your sexual energy have in common? Apparently they're both heart-healthy. At least, that's one possible way of looking at today's trine between Eros in Sagittarius and Ceres in Leo. There is a spiritual side to sex, and right now it's in a mutually supportive relationship with the ways you take leadership in your life and how you nourish yourself to stay young at heart. If you feel like you're starting to run up against restrictions that others have placed on you (a reflection of the approaching Mars-Uranus opposition), look at that idea more closely. Have you actually been the one limiting yourself? If so, taking conscious, constructive steps to grow beyond your perceived walls will likely feel better than reacting impulsively.

New Features Added:
Videos for 2018 Saturn, Chiron and Uranus Transits

Dear Friend and Reader:

The Art of Becoming is your 2018 annual reading. This is my 20th time at the rodeo! And that's a good thing, because to write about the transits of the coming year will take experience. If you're new to the discussion of this project, I've linked a letter in the last paragraph.

Planet Waves
Eric Francis.
I've added three new features to The Art of Becoming, for those who pre-order all 12 signs: videos that cover Chiron in Aries, and Aries Chiron returns; Uranus in Taurus, and Uranus oppositions; and Saturn in Capricorn, including those two Saturn return groups (first and second). These cover many age groups and sub-generations.

These videos are included if you pre-order all 12 signs. Then they will be spun off as separate products. They will not be included with post-publication orders, or single-sign orders. Each will be offered separately for $37.37 each.

I've wanted to do transit readings like this for years! One distinction about my astrological career is that rather than predicting transits, I've been listening to my clients tell me the stories of their transits for more than two decades.

The current pre-order price is $99, which includes written readings for all 12 signs, plus the Saturn, Chiron and Uranus video presentations. Those will be published before the written readings, by the way.

Delivery is expected in January. That's the time estimate, based on 20 years' experience doing this project. If you're curious to read more about The Art of Becoming, here's a detailed letter describing how I do the readings and what they contain.

And if you have not read your 2017 reading, you may do so here at no charge.

Sign up today. The next price increase will be soon!

Thank you for trusting me as your astrologer, and for participating in Planet Waves.

With love,

Daily Horoscope for November 29, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
If Today is Your Birthday
It's time to allow your wild streak out of the yard. You are a fireball of creativity, sex mojo and the craving for adventure. One way or another you're going to experience these things, so you may as well have fun. The more consciously you experiment, the more reasonable and wholesome risks you'll take. If you suppress these desires, they will revolt. You share a birthday with Louisa May Alcott, C. S. Lewis, and Don Cheadle.
Aries
Aries (March 20-April 19) -- Keep your cool, and your sense of humor. The next few days will be brimming with adventure and misadventure. If you keep your vibes light and loving, and sidestep conflict, you will have fun and keep your friends. If you slip and let anger rule the day, there will be consequences.
"The person you thought you were five years ago, one year ago, even yesterday, is not quite the same person you are today, potentially in some profound ways. To the extent that this is shaking up your consciousness and that of the people around you, you simply must develop confidence in yourself."

-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read hereEric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Taurus
Taurus (April 19-May 20) -- You must use your intuition to avoid negative scenes and sidestep your own fears. The thing about intuition is that it's quiet, and subtle -- like a tug, rather than a shove. Most people confuse it with paranoia, but intuition never once made anyone paranoid. Listen carefully, to yourself.
"If Taureans are competitive, it's primarily with themselves. You never want to do anything worse than you did it last time. Your next effort has to be better. When this is not driving you a little nuts, it can really work for you; and it definitely works for those who benefit from your devoted efforts."

-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read hereEric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Gemini
Gemini (May 20-June 21) -- Mercury is about to station retrograde. Problems you thought you solved may come up for review. You might get the feeling that it's worse than that; however, you have learned plenty in recent years (and in recent days). Don't be afraid to work things through one more time. Maybe two.
"Like an aviator or a sailor or both at once, you must study the weather, within you and around you, and have many skills and tools for coexisting with it. You harness your energy from change itself. Knowing yourself is not a matter of having a fixed concept, but rather an honest and ongoing relationship with who you are."

-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read hereEric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Cancer
Cancer (June 21-July 22) -- Be impeccable at work today and through the week. Sidestep any controversies, do what you're supposed to do, and do it well. Measure your words and proceed with caution. The stakes are higher than you think. Your knowledge is your power, and you must use it wisely.
"Whatever you are doing, the essential spirit of your chart is that you define yourself. You set your mission; you establish your reputation; you are the master of the experiment. If you want to accomplish anything beyond the routine level of success, that also entails the highest level of self-responsibility and inner authority."

-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read hereEric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Leo
Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) -- The Sun in your fellow fire sign Sagittarius is boosting your confidence. It's also reminding you that there's a creative solution to every problem. It will be worth sniffing around for that approach for a few days before throwing needless time, effort and money at it. Be patient and alert.
"You are now in a moment where you get to review, rethink and recreate just about anything you want. This may involve any facet of your life. You have the opportunity to work from the roots of your existence upward, and outward. For now, stay close to the ground and work from your core reality."

-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read hereEric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Virgo
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) -- Over the next few days, Mercury will be slowing down and turning retrograde. This is happening in the angle of your chart associated with family, your household and your sense of security. You will get to confront some fears. Remember: you have solid, useful experience to draw upon.
"Let everything point you back to you, as the focal point of your existence. This will enhance your capacity for relationships rather than diminish it. The more solidly you are present for yourself, the more solid you can be for others. But that's really beside the point; focusing your intimacy with yourself is its own reward."

-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read here. Eric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Libra
Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) -- The planets in their courses urge you to proceed with caution. Several factors describe potential misunderstandings. Others suggest that if you respond to any situation aggressively, whether you're right or not, there will be blowback that you don't need and may not be able to handle.
"You may have been looking to the people you relate to directly -- that is, partners of various kinds -- for answers about the changes you're going through. The deeper truth is that something inside you is evolving and growing, and changes to your partnerships are a kind of secondary effect. The sum total is that your circumstances are conspiring for you to be highly self-reliant."

-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read here. Eric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Scorpio
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) -- Today through the end of the week might be hectic at work (putting it mildly). You would be wise to attend to your particular tasks and let others address their own problems. Prioritize carefully: what has to be delivered next? That's the thing to focus on. Then, move forward from there.
"The essence of this message is that you must express your true self in every facet of your being, particularly in the work that you do. The tangible contribution you make to your community and the larger society is your single most dependable way to develop yourself, and to cultivate respect for yourself, and these angles of your chart are coming under strong, creative aspects this year."

Sagittarius Birthdays 2017-18:
Not What You Think: Your Personal Mercury Retrograde

Dear Friend and Reader:

I know what you're wondering: how can Mercury retrograde not be what you think, when Mercury is, in fact, the planet representing the mind? What I mean is this: Mercury retrograde phases have a bad rap for being nothing but trouble; but used well, they can be incredibly useful phases of time for review and deep introspection.

Planet Waves
So, you might say that if you have your Sun or rising sign in Sagittarius, then Mercury stationing retrograde in your sign on Sunday really isn't about 'what' you think; it's about how you think.

The weeks between Dec. 3 and Dec. 22 could actually be incredibly useful for getting to the bottom of certain beliefs and thought patterns you have, among other things.

What does it mean to start your solar year with Mercury stationing retrograde in your sign? Eric will walk you through this and all of the biggest astrological events of the next 12 months in your 2017-18 Sagittarius Birthday Reading.

With Saturn, Chiron and Uranus all changing signs soon, you'll find certain areas of your life changing in tone and emphasis. For example, what will it mean to have the planet of awareness and healing (Chiron) move into your house of play, creativity, adventurous risk, and sex for fun (Aries)?

Eric crafts these readings with the best of his life-coaching, cheerleading and problem-solving skills; the sensitivity of his therapy training; his uncanny knack to help you see challenges from a more empowering perspective; and with the kind of everyday, practical inspiration you can use immediately. You get some of the clearest, most nuanced and jargon-free personal astrology available on the internet.

Best of all, the two astrology segments (approximately 30 minutes each) and tarot reading that Eric records for you are completely different from the written Sagittarius reading that will be part of the 2018 annual edition. The Birthday Reading has a more jazz-like feeling, lending it to Eric's knack for uncanny, spontaneous insights and nuance -- and it's recorded with the Sun in your sign.

You can pre-order the 2017-18 Sagittarius Birthday Reading for the lowest price we offer: only $33. The price of the reading will increase as publication approaches, and then again after it's been released.

Yours & truly,

Amanda Painter
Planet Waves Astrology Editor

P.S. If you know someone with a Sagittarius Sun or rising sign who's been having a rough time this year, consider giving them the 2017-18 Sagittarius Birthday Reading as a gift. We could all use a friendly cheerleader these days.

Sagittarius
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) -- Sunday morning, Mercury turns to retrograde motion in your sign. This is your cue to begin wrapping up certain business and personal matters. These, in turn, relate to the longer-term theme of Saturn leaving your sign next month. Be meticulous and thorough. Turn over every stone, and check every drawer.
"You will thrive if you maintain a spirit of exploration and play in the work that you do. You might explore the idea that no matter what you do, you're doing the same thing: expressing your energy and love. If you discover that you don't feel so energetic or so loving, that's the time to consider why you're doing it. However, remember, many facets of your current astrology call for patience."

-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read hereEric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Capricorn
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) -- The long-term presence of Pluto in your birth sign has taught you to embrace your independence, and even a measure of true autonomy. Yet other factors constantly threaten to drag you back into earlier phases of your evolution. Don't fall for this. Be yourself, no matter what they say.
"One thing to remember is that your integrity is not linked to your being unchanging. In fact, your integrity is about your ability to change in helpful ways, and not to resist what you need the most. As well, you must be honest with yourself and with others about your uncertainty. It's all too tempting, in times of profound change, to attempt to cling to some form of fundamentalism or false security."

-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read hereEric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Aquarius
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) -- For the next few days, you might take an extra-cautious approach to making public statements: on social media, for example, or what you disclose to neighbors, coworkers and relatives. There will be no taking back certain information, which might be fine otherwise; though now, it could be grossly misconstrued.
"If you find some material you must confront, summon the might of Pluto to help you work through the details. When you discover that you're carrying around material from one or more of your ancestors, notice what it is, and offer it back to them. One thing you have going for you now is a rather hot spiritual fire burning. This is an excellent opportunity to burn off karma."

-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read hereEric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Pisces
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) -- You can make a series of decisions that improve your income stream. But make them small moves rather than big ones. Test your theory before applying it at full-force. More than anything, experiment with language. You have the ability to be brilliantly persuasive, if you would only use it.
"When you look at these years in retrospect, they will clearly be a 'before and after' time. There are likely to be focal points of that transition; you may have experienced many 'befores' and 'afters', which add up to nothing less than a complete transformation in the form of embodying your own existence. This has taken many shapes, and in truth it's a process that, once ignited, keeps on going."
