Planet Waves Daily Oracle for Nov. 19, 2017
Today's Oracle takes us to the Aquarius weekly for Dec. 10, 2010.
As you know, you're not the cool, logical person that the world perceives you to be, and that you love to be when you can. Particularly lately, you're an intricate, complex and inwardly focused critter, always preparing to leap off the next psychic cliff. What is really interesting, and exciting, is that you're losing your intimidation about exploring your own labyrinth. You're fully aware that there is a vast dimension to you that has no adherence to logic, no loyalty to being rational, no need to make sense all the time. What you would benefit from is clarifying your relationship to the past. It still seems more solid to you than it really is. I suggest you consider the idea that the past is an interpretation. And as you look at it differently, that interpretation will change -- and as you see the past in an original way, you will create an interpretation that favors you.
The Oracle is a daily mini-reading divined from our extensive Horoscope Archive. You can research any Planet Waves horoscope published since 1999 at the Horoscope Archive and Oracle.

If Your Birthday is Nov. 19
(The Day of the Reformer) | Scorpio Birthday Reading | All Other Signs
If you're ever worried about money, focus your precious mind on something more creative and you'll work out both at once. Financial thoughts often masquerade for self-esteem issues, so invest your energy into feeling your strength, your beauty and your purpose. Make that a habit, and spend your time only with people who support you.
Written in the Planets
Given the fact sexual abuse is a prevalent theme in the public discourse, you might be considering how power dynamics in general could affect past or present relationships. Mars squaring Pluto serves as a possible reminder that we don't exist in a vacuum. We are all part of a complex web of social structures, which include gender norms; and this influences how we perceive and interact with one another. Mitigating that influence means, in the first place, being conscious of what it looks like. That involves understanding the various reasons why you do what you do. Then, if so inclined, you can make an informed decision to try a different approach.
By any standards, 2018 will be a distinctive year astrologically. Get your essential guide to riding the waves of the next 12 months and beyond. Pre-order The Art of Becoming, the 2018 Planet Waves Annual by Eric Francis.
Daily Horoscope for November 19, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
If Today is Your Birthday
If you're ever worried about money, focus your precious mind on something more creative and you'll work out both at once. Financial thoughts often masquerade for self-esteem issues, so invest your energy into feeling your strength, your beauty and your purpose. Make that a habit, and spend your time only with people who support you. You share a birthday with Jodie Foster, Charlie Kaufman, and Jason Scott Lee.
Aries (March 20-April 19) -- If you were to look at the front page of any newspaper, you might get the feeling that there's no tomorrow, and no hope for a better future. You can do better than hope: open your eyes and you will get an actual look at what you're capable of. Your potential is not a dream. It's as real as you are.
"One gift you get from Pluto in Capricorn is the ability to align your goals with the rapidly changing conditions of the world. You are in an excellent position to take advantage of the shifting, quaking and shaking state of society. This of course requires being present and not being afraid when things get really real. You can and must look for the opportunities presented by change."

Taurus (April 19-May 20) -- Taurus is a sign famous for close bonding, though you must honor the side of your nature that craves freedom. Make sure that friends, partners and colleagues understand this about you, though don't seek permission to be yourself. You can take the space that you need, as long as you're respectful.
"If you ever feel lost or misguided, come back to purpose, which you will know when you feel it. Experiment all you need to. The more you experiment with bringing purpose and meaning to the surface of your consciousness, and consider them carefully, the more strength you will have; the more persistence; and more motivation and energy."

Gemini (May 20-June 21) -- Take the next two days and make an effort to wrap up any lingering projects. Don't let any Monday blahs slow you down. Have some fun today, get a little sunshine and make it an early night. Then hit the deck running and tie up the loose ends. Greater adventures await -- much greater.
"The dualism of Gemini is well known; you can live in a world of relative truth, which might work for you -- though consider how it works for those you influence. Pisces is the place in the zodiac where opposites are integrated and resolved, and for you this happens through your most meaningful work."
-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read here. Eric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) -- Maintain your positive momentum. Set your priorities. Either do what you want to do first, and what you need to do second; or reverse that, if it works better for you. The key is to move, to expand, and to remain engaged in what you're doing. Keep the wind in your wings every minute.
"Living in peace with your desire is one commitment to make to yourself. As you do this, it will have an influence on your relationships. This is to say, as you raise your energy and commit to being real with what you want, others will take notice. Ultimately the result will be living in your body rather than in your head."
-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read here. Eric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) -- Remember that only your parents are your parents, and now that you're an adult, their opinions matter less than yours. However, there would seem to be some surrogates around, who you might assign to the role of authority figure. Why might you do that, and do you really want to?
"If you consider yourself to be at the center of your social circle, or an integral part of your community, the changes you make in your own life constitute a form of leadership for the people around you. You can count on the fact that the people who look up to you are waiting for your initiative."
-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read here. Eric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) -- It's necessary to verify your intuition before you act on it. You might be right; you might be wrong. You need to have the curiosity to find out, which is based on the maturity to doubt yourself just enough to insist on confirmation. Belief is not enough; you need some data to back you up.
"The universe is not usually embraced all at once, nor is your place in the universe. Rather, you engage with it in momentary interactions, and you make it with everything you make, everyone you speak to, everyone and everything you touch. Imagine that in each of those contacts, you weave existence, and give life to the world."
-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read here. Eric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) -- Mars in your sign is continuing to provide a source of drive, motivation and determination. Anyone who does something significant in the world must from time to time rise above their insecurities. That's the theme of the day. Resolve to let nothing stop you from the important task at hand.
"Trust yourself, and trust your body, if you embody what I call the thresholder: one whose role is to bring others to the edge. You can only take them to the edge; they must cross over themselves. Others can only take you to the edge; you must cross over it yourself, and see who welcomes you on the other side of the journey."

Dear Friend of Planet Waves:
I recently did the astrology portions of the Scorpio reading. That reading is ready for instant access.
While I was working, I had a feeling I often get doing these readings: this is information I would want to know were I interested in astrology, if it was available. I would want to know about this, if only I had an astrologer I was fairly sure had a clue what was happening. [Listen to audio preview here.]
Over the next year or so, three critical planets will change signs: Saturn, Chiron and Uranus. (Chiron is often thought to be a morph of Saturn and Uranus, so that's pretty cool.) Saturn will ingress Capricorn at the end of the year, then next year, Chiron will enter Aries and Uranus will enter Taurus. Plus, several important minor planets will change signs.
What you get with my birthday (and annual) readings is astrology that's too complex to put into the horoscope column, but too personal to say much about in my articles. Using a very old technique called whole-sign houses, I am able to cast an actual chart and read that chart just like I would if you were sitting here.
For just $44, you get a reading that comes very close to a personal reading, containing much that a competent astrologer would say -- if they understood both the classical and modern astrology. This is the thing.
So much of what's happening now compels an understanding of contemporary developments in astrology. A minor planet that was discovered in 1999, and named a few weeks ago, fills in a missing piece of the puzzle in the current astrology. You can read about that here.
This reading, and my approach to by-sign readings, fills in a vast middle ground in astrology: we have horoscope columns (most of them irrelevant), we have blogs and newsletters (most of them speculative) and we have "prepared reports," drawn from a database by your birthdate, which if you were lucky were written fewer than 15 years ago.
The reading I'm offering now was done today, based on research I've been doing with my team all week and weekend -- and supported by my decades of work, writing, research and presenting in the astrology field.
I've included a graphic of the chart so you can see how sophisticated my approach is. In my presentation, though, I am speaking directly to you, in everyday language. You won't need a Ph.D. in astrology to understand this: you just need to be curious about yourself. You may appreciate the fact that I am direct and honest about relationships, sexuality and the social constructs that influence them -- a topic of vast importance today, and of interest to you. I cover much more than that, however.
You will love and benefit from this reading, or you may have your money back.
Here's how to get instant access.
with love,
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) -- You may be a few steps ahead of a close partner on an important decision, though you're setting a positive example. It's essential, though, that you let people come to their own choices in their own time, just like you insist upon. Meanwhile, you have plenty of ways to have fun.
"Make some peace with what you really feel beneath the surface tension of appearances. The reason that staying superficial is so popular is because it negates feeling. Yet every facet of your astrology is saying it's essential to go deep -- and that depth is essential in feeling good about who you are, and discovering who you are."
-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read here. Eric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) -- You're a more complex person than you let on, though you know the truth. You are safe opening up to the people you care about, and revealing your deeper reality. You will share something different with each person, with each relationship revealing an important facet of who you are.
"You might think of Saturn as the one missing and necessary ingredient in Sagittarius. It's not an easy mix. It is, however, a imperative one, if you want to get anything done; if you want to claim your full personhood. To live free means to take up responsibility for your destiny."
-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read here. Eric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) -- You can afford to take a positive view of your life, even if people around you are wandering around lost. You can go deep into your experience even if others are content to skim across the surface. You can ask questions and seek daring answers, whether anyone else cares, or not.
"The thing is, your future self is not as easy to perceive as your past self. Every transit I've described adds up to you developing in ways that you simply cannot predict, and which therefore amount to a daunting unknown. In order to face who you are becoming, you must face that unknown."
-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read here. Eric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) -- Check carefully how recent events or developments are resonating with your circle of friends, and whomever you consider to be your public. Now that you have a reputation, you must do everything in your power to maintain it; which is really to say you must be on your honor at all times.
"The fantasy is simple; you're in control. The reality is more complex; feelings are involved. I recommend trying anything that you're bringing out of fantasy at least three times before you make up your mind. Gradually work your way into it. Build your courage. Find the right people and persist in your experiment. Let curiosity drive you."
-- From your 2017 annual reading by Eric Francis, The Book of Your Life -- which you can read here. Eric's beginning work on the 2018 annual edition. Pre-order now.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) -- Keep stretching, reaching, expanding and most of all, exploring your potential. Do this in actual, physical ways. Go new places, speak to people, experiment, and try new things that don't directly involve computers. You know what you need to say; remind yourself every day that you are the message.
"There really is no mission, career or vocation: there is you, becoming who you are. I feel like I keep saying this, though this notion keeps coming up in your astrology. You're not really changing; rather, your inner essence is emerging in a way that is both unstoppable and undeniable. And this you can express as mission."
