"Don't put limitations on yourself. Other people will do that for you. Don't do that to yourself. Don't bet against yourself. And take risk. NASA has this phrase that they like, 'Failure is not an option.' But failure has to be an option. In art and exploration, failure has to be an option. Because it is a leap of faith. And no important endeavour that required innovation was done without risk. You have to be willing to take those risks."

If Your Birthday is Aug. 16
(The Day of High Voltage) | Leo Birthday Reading | All Other Signs
Your current heading is close to the direction you need to be going. You only have to make minor adjustments, based mostly on feeling than on some detailed thought process. The main thing you need to tweak is making sure that you have multiple sources of income rather than just one or two. You serve many purposes; this will be easier than you think.
Written in the Planets
Today the Leo Sun makes a grand fire trine with Eris in Aries and Ixion in Sagittarius. Even though it looks more like a 'triangle of fire' than a 'ring of fire', the principle is the same; and it's up to you not to burn out of control. A few things look like they will help you light your spark constructively. One is to remember that no matter how tempting it might be to use subterfuge or provoke others to attain a goal, that's not how true leadership works -- and it's not very compassionate or heart-centered behavior. Lest you think you could never be so tempted, Ixion is a reminder that anyone is capable of anything. The second thing is to remember that we each have our own personal 'sword of Damocles' above our heads, and abusing power is a sure way to meet it. Finally, let yourself be pushed by your deeper healing goals. Using those tools takes more work than what might feel like 'the easy way' today, but it's worth it. Always.
In the Shadow of the Moon, the exciting 2017 Midyear Reading by Eric Francis, has just been published. The video readings for all 12 signs cover the Great American Eclipse of Aug. 21 and well beyond. We'll be increasing the price again very soon, so don't hesitate to order your copy here. You can also now choose your individual signs here.
"I have just listened to your Part 1 and Part 2 readings and I am amazed at how accurate it has been. Like you have a telescope watching me shed a skin and transform into a totally changed person in the last 10 years."
-- Pauline Jones
If you have a Leo Sun, rising sign or Moon, how are you feeling about your vision for your life, and in what ways are you ready to take action toward it? With a partial lunar eclipse on Monday in your opposite sign Aquarius (your relationship sign), the door opens to one stage of potential transition. In just over two weeks, on Aug. 21, a total solar eclipse in Leo signals the second stage of whatever life-shifting process you're engaged with.
The reverberations from these two eclipses will keep rippling out and developing through the next six to twelve months -- and Eric's upcoming 2017-18 Leo Birthday Reading will be designed to guide you through it all.
"The past few years have been very difficult on many levels and it has been the readings I get through you that keep me going. Always, absolutely right on, every one of them."

Daily Horoscope for August 16, 2017 | By Eric Francis Coppolino
If Today is Your Birthday
Your current heading is close to the direction you need to be going. You only have to make minor adjustments, based mostly on feeling than on some detailed thought process. The main thing you need to tweak is making sure that you have multiple sources of income rather than just one or two. You serve many purposes; this will be easier than you think. You share a birthday with James Cameron, Angela Bassett and Madonna.
Aries (March 20-April 19) -- Offer yourself the courage to be different, to be daring, and to experiment. Most of all, have the guts and sense of adventure to go off-script. Allow things to happen that you were not planning, and could not plan for. Invite a little chaos into your life, and set your mind free from expectations.
Taurus (April 19-May 20) -- The next few days are building to a rad solar eclipse that's going to lure you out of your comfort zone. You were made for this. It's just that you need a bit more advanced preparation than most people, so I'm here a little early with your personal invitation to step over the threshold into a new reality.
Gemini (May 20-June 21) -- The image of the current Mercury retrograde is burrowing back in time and having the opportunity to repair something that went wrong. Usually this is difficult or impossible, though there are times when you can recover a loss, mend a relationship or revise a decision.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) -- You're in an unusual position of leadership right now. This is described by the Moon, which is associated with your sign, about to make an eclipse to the Sun. Your influence starts with you and spreads to the world around you. Don't act powerless about anything; you're holding all the best cards.
To the Leo Eclipse and Beyond!
In just over two weeks, on Aug. 21, a total solar eclipse in Leo signals the second stage of whatever life-shifting process you're engaged with.
This is a unique year for you, Leo. In addition to the current eclipses (and the double New Moons in your sign), Eric plans to discuss in your upcoming reading such astrological heavyweights as Chiron finishing up its journey through your 8th house; ever-surprising Uranus; and Saturn leaving your fellow fire sign, Sagittarius -- plus more.
Are you navigating changes in your relationships or family paradigm? Do you find yourself at a career crossroads? Are you seeking clarity, encouragement and new perspectives on your creativity, self-esteem, sexuality or healing process? You'll find ideas and reassurance in this reading.
"I have just listened to your Part 1 and Part 2 readings and I am amazed at how accurate it has been. Like you have a telescope watching me shed a skin and transform into a totally changed person in the last 10 years."

Your reading is now priced at $44; so you'll want to pre-order your 2017 Leo Reading very soon -- definitely before it publishes, when the price is set to increase again. This reading is designed to work for anyone with Leo Sun, Leo rising and even Leo Moon -- and makes an amazing gift.
Leo (July 22-Aug. 23) -- You may be feeling a mix of big changes coming, and some uncertainty about the future. That would be a natural blend of emotions. Yet remind yourself that you have the strength and experience to make the most of your opportunities -- and you have the support of your friends.
The first astrology segment of your 2017-18 Leo Birthday Reading by Eric is now published. This is a seminal year for Leo Sun, rising and Moon, especially with the upcoming powerful solar eclipse in your sign. Make this dynamic energy work for you -- order your reading today.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) -- You can be far less rigid in how you define yourself. If you can alter a few stuck ideas about who you think you are, you'll allow in many of the changes you want to make the very most. The notion of a 'self-concept' should be as minimalist as possible. Your actual self is much more meaningful.
Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 23) -- The time has arrived to come out of your shell. You may think you're already out; or you may be certain that you would rather keep to yourself. Yet the rapidly approaching total solar eclipse in Leo clearly describes a kind of grand debutante ball, of which you are the star.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) -- Many people want power and influence. Then they often find they're negotiating or wrangling over the smallest, most irrelevant matters in their relationships. Stop wasting your time on what does not serve anyone, and focus on doing what actually benefits yourself and others.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 22) -- Easy does it this week. You've been under some pressure to perform, excel or be disciplined, and now that has been letting go. You want to release it gently, rather than all at once. Notice what's flowing out, and then observe what flows into the vacuum where the intensity has left.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) -- Take a chance and make sure you're on the level with the people in your life. It's easy to keep secrets, even knowing that, eventually, everything comes out. If there's anything you have to say, say it now. If there's anything you need to ask, put the question forward.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) --
Your life right now is a study in letting go of your stuck patterns, negative tendencies and thought-forms you've outgrown. Part of why you want to do this is so you can have more wholesome and grounded relationships. But you're really doing it so you can be happier.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) -- Important matters of both work and relationships are calling you, and you'll need to find a balance. This is, of course, the story of life; and not just yours, though you're in a good position to work out a method. It seems that one key is keeping the two together rather than separating them.
