<\/dt>\nBesides the type of Thursday’s solar conjunction with Mercury, its place on the zodiac (28+ Gemini) and history associated with that place will combine to complete the message.<\/p>\n
Mercury’s interior conjunctions always take place during its apparent reversals. It is an event that marks both the midpoint of Mercury’s retrograde period, and its top speed.<\/p>\n
Sure enough, Thursday will be 12 days after Mercury stationed retrograde on June 7, and 12 days before the innermost planet resumes direct apparent motion on July 1.<\/p>\n
Mercury’s apparent speed on June 19 will be just over half a degree per day, as fast as it will get during the 24 days it will take to backpedal less than 10 degrees on the zodiac. That’s about one-fourth of the speed Mercury reaches when it is in direct motion on the other side of the Sun for an exterior (or, “superior”) conjunction. That’s unusually slow.<\/p>\n

When Mercury is unusually slow, it’s usually a good time to engage in contemplation, among other things. In general, the appropriate nature of deliberate considerations during Mercury’s interior conjunction with the Sun will entail how the quality of the time resembles a New Moon.<\/p>\n
During a New Moon, it’s the Moon unseen between Earth and the Sun. Mercury is likewise all but invisible now, its position more induced indirectly rather than deduced by direct observation.<\/p>\n
Particular to the nature of inductive reasoning (as opposed to deductive reasoning) is the lack of direct evidence and the need to infer from the corresponding particulars. One striking particular of Thursday’s interior conjunction is its place on the zodiac, in the next to last degree of Gemini.<\/p>\n
Eric has observed how the next to last degree of Gemini shows up as being prominently occupied or aspected in the astrology charts for several profoundly historical events<\/a> so far in this century, such as Sept. 11, 2001.<\/p>\n More recently, the pattern has continued. On June 19, 2013, precisely one year ago this coming Thursday, Jupiter’s necessarily exterior conjunction<\/a> with the Sun (because Jupiter never passes between Earth and the Sun for an interior conjunction) took place at 28+ Gemini.<\/p>\n Corresponding to Jupiter’s expansive nature, interpersonal cachet, its far removal on the other side of the Sun and its conjunction with the Sun at 28+ Gemini, the issues and news events of June 19, 2013<\/a>, were large in scale, yet personal in import. Distinguished by obfuscation, they are (perhaps most tellingly) mostly unresolved to this day.<\/p>\n Now, with Mercury about to take Jupiter’s place one year later (albeit on the near side of the Sun), the inferred correlation is more along the lines of what you are conscious of (Sun) regarding your own personal place in history, and how you think of it (Mercury).<\/p>\n Undeniably that’s an important issue given how both your access to awareness (Mercury) and influence (Sun) are arguably greater than most who have lived prior to your lifetime.<\/p>\n That’s a lot to contemplate.
