That’s because the Aries Sun and Libra Moon were today opposed from the same degrees of the same signs as they were on Oct. 18, 2013; except for having flipped sides of the zodiac.

About six months ago, it was the Sun at 25+ Libra, opposed by the eclipsed Moon at 25+ Aries. Today it was the other way around. Such a pairing of consecutive lunar eclipses does not happen very often.

The last time such a flip occurred so precisely was along the same sign axis.

The Oct. 8, 1995, lunar eclipse (which had the Moon at 14+ Aries and the Sun at 14+ Libra) was followed by an April 3, 1996, lunar eclipse at 14+ Libra opposed b the Sun at 14+ Aries.

That was was almost exactly 18 years ago, which corresponds closely to the amount of time it takes for the lunar nodes (where Sun and Moon meet or oppose to make eclipses) to make a complete circuit of the 12 signs.

Hence, you have some rational correlations as an alternative to irrational anxiety to work with. As you enter a two-week wormhole of big astrology, which will conclude with a Taurus solar eclipse on April 29, any grounds for being reasonable as opposed to fearful will serve you well.

Apprehension is the downside of awareness when it comes to working with astrology. When fear is your focus, what you fear takes up a lot of room in your reality. A preoccupation with dread pushes more pleasant (and possibly more likely) alternatives to to the edge of your consciousness. The result is a sort of self-inflicted blindness, which is no way to work with the Sun and Moon to your best advantage.

For just as the real Sun is most plainly the light of day, the symbolic Sun of astrology is the metaphorical “light” of consciousness people can see when you are “on” and most mindfully at your best.

Conversely, a Full Moon illuminates the night like nothing else in the natural world, and is emblematic of you at your most your most insightful and creative. That’s how any Full Moon should be a time when you are at the top of your game as a sentient being.

A lunar eclipse takes place during Full Moons when Sun and Moon oppose each other from their respective conjunctions with the perpetually opposed lunar nodes. Given one common interpretation of the lunar nodes, a lunar eclipse would also logically correspond to when you are most aware.

The lunar nodes are two constantly oscillating and slowly moving hypothetical points where the plane of Earth’s orbit around the Sun (otherwise known as the ecliptic) intersects with the plane of the lunar orbit around Earth. The so-called “North” node is where the Moon rises above the ecliptic, and the “South” node is where the lunar orbit plunges below our planet’s orbital plane.

Because the apparent motion of the lunar nodes through the zodiac is so slow (taking nearly two decades to traverse the full circle), those two very auspicious imaginary points are commonly interpreted by astrologers as a means by which you can connect with the long ago and far away from a firmly grounded present.

Taking into account how both the Sun an Moon are most plainly interpreted as literal and figurative luminaries, the solar and lunar conjunctions with lunar nodes during eclipses should therefore logically correspond with times of clear and proficient vision.

Yet, somehow, somewhere along the way, misplaced anxiety and reflexive word of mouth has put eclipses on the flip side of their just reputation. Because of how today’s lunar eclipse correlates with both six months and 18 years ago, however, you are being given the opportunity to remove the blinders of unfounded acquiescence to fear once and for all.

You can liberate your consciousness by first considering how today’s lunar eclipse connects to that of Oct. 18, 2013. Think about what your waking consciousness (corresponding to the Sun) was focused on some six months ago, and how that focus somehow complemented what was being processed on an intuitive level or through your body.

Then, consider how the emotional needs, or issues of comfort and safety represented by your lunar consciousness half a year back may have flipped into your daily reality for resolution and integration now. Meditate also on how events between the Libra equinox and Capricorn solstice may in turn be working out below the surface of your awareness today. If you can make just a few such connections, extend your inner telescope for a longer view into the past.

Think about what a different world it was during the last three months of 1995 and the first three months of 1996. Pluto initiated 12 years in Sagittarius at that time; Uranus completed a second foray into Aquarius to begin a seven-year tenure in its rulership.

Contemplate how what started then might be moving towards another rite of passage now, and if you can pick up just a little light from so long ago and so far away, let the illumination guide you through the next two weeks into the flip side of a new era in your conscious connection with the universe. Sure beats being blinded by fear when there is so much available for you to see.

Offered In Service

Len is available for astrology readings.
