The Sun exacts its conjunction to centaur object Pholus Friday at 12:55 am EDT. With Pholus (small cause, big effect) in the midst of a whole herd of other centaur objects, asteroids and more in Sagittarius, this really is the beginning of something larger than one mere conjunction — but what exactly is it all about?<\/p>\n

You can see the entire list of objects currently in Sagittarius here<\/a> (the list is a couple days old; the Sun is about two degrees further along today). Having that many objects in Sag, especially so many that move slowly and are associated with familial\/ancestral baggage and the \u2018healing crises\u2019 that can be triggered by it, speaks to how lots of us are experiencing life these days. A parade of shadowy \u2018stuff\u2019 keeps coming up, challenging us to deal with it.<\/p>\n

Culturally speaking, much of what we\u2019re seeing around us is continually over the top or extreme; think John Boehner, the NSA, so-called reality TV — heck, even the weather. It\u2019s getting so the proverbial butterfly flapping its wings doesn\u2019t just cause a hurricane halfway \u2018round the world; it manages to take out multiple countries, impact the next seven generations and make the fall of Atlantis look like a dress rehearsal.<\/p>\n

Okay, that\u2019s an exaggeration, but I suspect there\u2019s a good reason why the butterfly example from chaos theory is such a popular trope in modern fiction. The world feels pretty chaotic these days — and the small things we do, positive as well as negative, really do matter. Consequences matter. And consequences can be very good, not just catastrophic or regrettable. The key seems to be acting as though what you do really matters. <\/p>\n

It does matter.<\/p>\n

With so many space critters making their way through Sagittarius, the sign of religious, spiritual and philosophical beliefs, it should be no surprise that belief seems to trump facts and reality these days. The downside to that is people eschewing well-documented evidence about any number of topics in favor of pretty impressive storytelling. (Creationism is a prime example, but it happens along all points of the belief spectrum, regardless of worldview, political affiliation, religious leanings and so on). <\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth considering the upside to embracing belief, however; such as, the belief that we can heal our physical, emotional and psychic wounds — or the belief that in healing ourselves, we raise the vibration and open space and provide an example for others to do the same. Or the belief that in healing ourselves, we may be able to heal the karma of past generations in our families.<\/p>\n

We can bring it back to the mundane and away from the \u2018woo-woo\u2019 and it still works: when you believe that your actions have far-reaching effects, affecting people you don\u2019t know, even small decisions and simple kind acts take on significance. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s not about perfection or pressure or sacrificing your desires and needs to please everyone. It\u2019s simply about remembering the concept of integrity more often than you forget it. It\u2019s about remembering that it does not require heroics to make a difference; sharing a smile with a stranger can ripple out further than you expect.<\/p>\n

And if you do want to dive into the deep end of the pool and sort through ancestral \u2018stuff\u2019 when it gets triggered, remember that you\u2019re being supported with a very real Jupiter-Saturn trine in water signs. As noted Monday<\/a>, that aspect is providing some brilliant emotional stability right now (Jupiter-Saturn is exact today). So flap those butterfly wings of yours — gently, and consciously.<\/p>\n
