We have quite a week of astrology upon us, with two distinct themes coming from two different sets of planets. Planets in water signs (particularly Mercury and Neptune) are running one set of messages, while Venus contacting the Uranus-Pluto square has her own story. As you might guess, they compliment each other.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s start with Mercury, which finally stationed direct in Scorpio yesterday. Mercury is still moving very slowly and will take a while to get up to cruising speed. Likewise, you may find it\u2019s helpful to continue taking your time with thoughts, communications and travel this week, as things that got \u2018interesting\u2019 during the retrograde sort themselves out. Keep your antennae up for echoes of themes\/issues\/questions\/events from the retrograde and the first shadow phase for the next couple weeks.<\/p>\n

Feeling the implications and overtones of these echoes will be heightened by Mercury\u2019s longer-than-usual trine to Neptune in Pisces, active now. There was one exact contact between Mercury and Neptune Saturday, and another one today at 3:46 pm EDT.<\/p>\n

Mercury-Neptune trines are known to enhance things like intuition, clairvoyance and creativity; put the two planets in Scorpio and Pisces, and that power is heightened and deepened. Mercury\u2019s station direct magnifies the potential to shift your perspective — especially on recent insights. <\/p>\n

If you agree with the idea of collective unconscious, or that there isn\u2019t really such thing as a secret thought (or you\u2019ve been noticing how the Internet functions like a great big viewfinder showing us what used to be hidden to \u2018everyone else\u2019), Mercury trine Neptune raises questions. Such as, what if everyone knew those truths you\u2019re so careful to conceal? What if not only the veil between the living and dead, but also the veil we throw between each other, is thinner than we think it is? <\/p>\n

Right now, it very well might be. Eric wrote of Mercury-Neptune, \u201cImagine it’s all transmitted\/handed off\/broadcast through the Dream Muse. Dump out your top drawer, take a picture of it and put it on Facebook!\u201d<\/p>\n

Even if you don\u2019t go that far, consider for a moment what it might be like, and how it might affect your behavior, to be known in all your truth.<\/p>\n

In other water-sign action, the Moon is currently in Pisces, souping up the psychic\/creative vibe; Neptune takes its turn stationing direct Wednesday; and Tuesday, the Scorpio Sun makes an exact trine to retrograde Jupiter in Cancer. (We may cover Sun-Jupiter in tomorrow\u2019s post.) <\/p>\n

After that, the emphasis shifts to earth (and some fire). It\u2019s as if the shift from a water emphasis to an earthier emphasis is saying, \u201cListen carefully to subtle messages, hints, sensations and \u2018feelings\u2019 — then be ready to use what you\u2019ve learned in practical, relational and social ways.\u201d<\/p>\n

Venus is in early Capricorn, squaring Uranus in Aries and conjoining Pluto (exact Friday). In the process, Venus makes a sextile (flow you have to meet halfway) to Chiron in Pisces.<\/p>\n

One take on Venus square Uranus is to be ready to adapt to any surprises regarding the foundations, traditions or assumptions in your intimate relationship. <\/p>\n

Taking a wider view, the Uranus-Pluto square is the big, collective, societal aspect shaping and defining our current era. When you add Venus to that mix, \u2018revolution\u2019 and \u2018evolution\u2019 get about as personal as they can. Can you say, \u2018sexual revolution\u2019?<\/p>\n

Eric writes that, \u201cThis is the devilish side of Capricorn coming out with a surge of lust and evolutionary power through Venus, overthrowing the bonds and bursting the compartments.\u201d (Bondage play, anyone?) <\/p>\n

Venus in the Uranus-Pluto square looks a lot like giving up on trying to keep up the \u2018good girl\u2019 shtick, and letting yourself stir up some very, very soulful passion (not \u2018spiritual\u2019 passion — although Vesta ingressing Libra Friday, which is ruled by Venus, might have something to say there). <\/p>\n

No, we\u2019re talking much earthier than that. Between all the wet water-sign activity and Venus breaking loose in the Uranus-Pluto square, next weekend\u2019s Taurus Full Moon (opposite the Scorpio Sun) should be something special.
