Now folks, I know this is going to strain the bounds of credulity, but believe me — it\u2019s a fact. Among the literal host of personal-named asteroids out there (or up there, as it were), there are several with names which are common euphemisms for \u201cpenis\u201d in English. They\u2019re not named for such, but they work that way in news stories and birth charts, especially when the topic is sex and scandal. Among these are asteroids Dick (#17548), Pecker (#1629) and Wiener (#18182).<\/p>\n

Hmmmm\u2026 Wiener\u2026 now what does that remind me of? Oh, yes! Anthony Weiner (vowels reversed), the former U.S. congressman forced to resign two years ago in the wake of a sexting scandal, now running for New York City mayor. And what\u2019s he been up to of late?<\/p>\n

Well, as the great Yogi Berra might have phrased it, \u201cit\u2019s dong-ja vu all over again!\u201d <\/p>\n

Yes, Anthony Weiner (born Sept. 4, 1964) has been caught with his pants down once more in a brand new sexting scandal, more than a year after he pledged never to do it again. <\/p>\n

After the story broke, candidate Weiner called a press conference in New York City, and began speaking at 5:36 PM EDT on July 23.<\/p>\n

At precisely that moment, what celestial body should be rising exactly on the ascendant but asteroid Dick, at 23 Virgo! Dick rising; pretty apt, on a whole bunch of levels. Not only that, but Dick also opposes TNO Salacia at 27 Pisces, a point named for a Roman goddess from which we derive our word \u201csalacious,\u201d meaning \u201clustful, lecherous, obscene or grossly indecent.\u201d Indeed.<\/p>\n

But it gets better. The Sun that day at 1 Leo was exactly conjoined Anthony Weiner\u2019s natal asteroid Photographica, which of course represents photos and images of all kinds, including sexting. Not content with that rather potent contact, the Sun was involved in a T-square, a tense, geometrically unforgiving structure denoting conflict and challenge, incorporating an opposition to transiting asteroid Pecker at 25 Capricorn, and a square to asteroid Wiener at 29 Libra. <\/p>\n

While out of Sign, this pattern is within orb, and is tumescent with appropriate imagery, including an asteroid representing Weiner personally — as well as a virtual orgy of celestial penis jokes.<\/p>\n

The day was one which was primed for the disclosure of politicians\u2019 sexual peccadilloes, with an engorged pairing of Mars (sex) and Jupiter (politics), both at 6 Cancer, into which just happens to walk another personal-named asteroid, Sydney (#15550). Named for the city in Australia, it\u2019s functioning here as the first name of the woman who exposed Weiner\u2019s dirty little secret, Sydney Leathers (No, I\u2019m not making that up!). <\/p>\n

At 4 Cancer, she\u2019s right there with Mars\/Jupiter, and trine to her natal degree in Weiner\u2019s birth chart, 5 Scorpio. That just happens to be exactly where transiting Saturn is right now, representing lawmakers, government officials generally, and chief executives like mayors specifically. <\/p>\n

Of course, it also represents careers, loss and limitation, and endings or withdrawal from a process — such as, oh, I don\u2019t know\u2026 a mayoral race?<\/p>\n
