Despite the sexually carefree traditions of Beltane (the ancient Pagan holiday honoring the fertile Earth with lots of sex and fire), there are practical questions of integrity at hand. <\/p>\n

We’re now in the last days before the Scorpio Full Moon, and Full Moons are notorious for amping up emotions and keeping us up at night. Mars in Virgo is square two points (the lunar nodes), representing a choice between wanting to stick with what we know and wanting to move forward consciously. <\/p>\n

Neptune and Chiron in Pisces are also square those same lunar nodes, meaning that you may feel pulled between addressing your life circumstances with intuitive creativity (the Pisces side) or rational problem-solving (the Virgo side) if you\u2019re having trouble finding the balancing point.<\/p>\n

The Taurus Sun is approaching the Black Moon Lilith (a calculated point) representing the shadow material of the psyche. Under this astrology, is it possible to be free and be responsible to yourself? <\/p>\n

Let’s consider Saturn and Vesta, both of which are about containment. Saturn in Libra and Vesta in Taurus are still far apart, but they have one thing in common right now: they are both in Venus-ruled signs. Let’s take them one at a time — and then see what they have in common.<\/p>\n

With Saturn, we tend to think of containers like actual buildings or institutions. Saturn in Libra describes a \u2018relationship container\u2019. Saturn is currently being opposed by Mercury in Aries, exact just hours before the Full Moon Saturday. Think of this aspect as a child (Mercury in Aries) meeting the adult relationship model (Saturn in Libra). It’s about reaching limits and what you do there. In a healthy relationship, the boundaries between the two (or more) partners are clear and respected. They leave space in the middle for what is shared, plus space within each individual. There is also space to negotiate (a Libra trait).<\/p>\n

Vesta just ingressed Taurus on Monday. This placement brings a sense of genuine devotion to the celebration of Beltane this year, as the Sun moves through Taurus. Vesta, who holds space — living space, ritual space, healing space — presents us with a more ephemeral container than does Saturn, but one that is time honored. <\/p>\n

It represents the idea of \u2018holding space\u2019 for something in an act of devotion (like an experience, a creative process or an emotional process). This is vital to maintaining a sense of inner structure and integrity; that, in turn, is vital for building the same in relationship to another. Given that we are just a couple days away from the Sun and Moon opposing each other in the two signs having to do with \u2018mine\u2019 and \u2018thine,\u2019 (Taurus and Scorpio, respectively), this is fitting. <\/p>\n

How are you doing with maintaining a sense of inner space for yourself through your relationships? This is where Vesta in Taurus may help you focus and pass through any tests that could come up.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, as is too infrequently done in the world today, set aside some intentional time for yourself. Perhaps explore how any pressures and decisions can be reshaped in the forges of Beltane, or used as fuel to burn off what you no longer need in your erotic sphere (and creative life). The idea is to get creative with your sense of devotion to your erotic and creative expression this weekend.<\/p>\n
