Such is the case with the indications that we are collectively facing some sort of crossroads, tipping point or dilemma in our lives. As described yesterday, the Sun making a square to the lunar nodes<\/a> (two calculated points) this week is an eclipse-like event that is urging us to make some sort of decision and take some action. Also, Venus opposing Saturn is reiterating that this decision point involves balancing our relationships (and our internal experience of them). <\/p>\n

If this has struck a chord with you, there is a good chance that the presence of the Moon in Taurus yesterday and today has colored how you feel about the increasing tension being generated by that square and the opposition. You may have noticed the material and financial implications of any choice you face have taken taking a particularly emotional tone. Perhaps the thought of taking the steps you face feels like a beautiful opportunity, because you\u2019re in a position to sense the dynamic energy of movement inherent in change. Or possibly you\u2019ve been experiencing a sense of impending loss and the fear that comes with it, wishing you could hold on to what is familiar. <\/p>\n

If you find yourself fitting that last description, there is a little something going on today that may help you to shift perspective. And if you are already feeling optimistic and adventurous, you have support in that. The Sun in Pisces is making a sextile to Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto often gets a bad rap as being about scary upheaval, but without its evolutionary impulse, we would stagnate. And the key to using the energy afforded by the Sun\u2019s square to the lunar nodes is to recognize what constitutes stagnation in our lives — and then make choices that lead us into the unknown. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s rather like how traveling an unfamiliar road does not in itself mean that you are lost, or that you should not continue. It simply means you have to go forward with awareness and an amount of care as you approach curves and hills you cannot see beyond.<\/p>\n

A sextile is known to be a supportive and flowing aspect (if a bit subtle at times); the trick is that it, like a square, asks us to make some effort to take advantage of its energy. It\u2019s rather like how a door is only a useful entrance if you are willing to turn the knob and push a little, and then walk through. According to Isabel Hickey, Sun sextile Pluto pairs a person\u2019s desire to advance and evolve with the ability to release the negative thoughts and attitudes that might otherwise derail them. <\/p>\n

With the Sun in super-creative and spiritual Pisces and Pluto in solid, business-like Capricorn, this looks like imaginative solutions with genuine grounding in reality are at hand. It\u2019s really just up to you to stretch your mind a little to recognize them — stretch it loose enough that the negative falls away. Then stretch out your fingers to grasp these solutions (the doorknob!). Relax your heart and soul enough to feel the beauty of no longer fearing what’s behind the door and clinging (if you were) to the room you’re in.
