Today is Thursday, August 4, 2011. <\/strong><\/a> The Moon is in Libra all day and leaving a conjunction with Saturn in Libra at 2:53 am EDT. As The Scales, Libra is about balance, natural harmony and measuring up socially. Saturn here is pretty powerful and concerned with bringing long-term harmony to your life by structuring, solidifying and crystallizing the social aspects of your life to reflect a strong sense of inner personal authority. After sunset this evening, you can see the Moon and Saturn along with the bright star Spica<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Spica represents the concepts of gifts and giftedness. With Saturn and the Moon approaching this star, you may have the opportunity for some encounters with VIP authority figures who are very gifted and may also be able to recognize your giftedness or your inner potential. <\/p>\n

It is important to come to meetings with bosses, advisors and any other authority figures with a sense of respect. If they are not the genuine thing, you can always place chip on shoulder and go searching for your own inner authority later, but you don\u2019t have to start there — in fact, it is probably advisable not to.<\/p>\n

The other main aspect today is a sextile between Mercury retrograde in Virgo and Mars in Cancer. Both of these planets just recently moved into these signs, and with Mercury moving backward there is a sense of having arrived somewhere that may be both a little strange and uncomfortable. It\u2019s kind of like moving into your new office while the previous person is cleaning out their stuff and putting it into a box. You may be feeling or sensing the emotional history of something that is not really yours or belongs to the past. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s still good to pay attention and maybe even ask a few questions because you may have to deal with a few repercussions depending on how well tied-up the loose ends are. This is also a mark of maturity, authority and leadership: the ability to sense the currents of your environment, ask the appropriate questions and then respond accordingly. The virtue of gravitas comes from respect for a situation and a sense of response-ability toward it.
