Today is Tuesday, July 12, 2011.<\/strong><\/a> The waxing Moon is in Sagittarius all day, making its way toward a conjunction with the Galactic Center in the wee hours of Wednesday and then its full phase in Capricorn Thursday night into Friday. So if you\u2019re feeling inclined to have a not-quite-the-weekend cookout Thursday night, you\u2019re in tune with the Moon. Better yet, how about drumming the Moon to full with a late-night beach party complete with skinny dipping? The Full Moon is a time to celebrate — think of something, somewhere, somehow.<\/p>\n

Before we get there, however, the Moon makes a conjunction to the Great Attractor and Pholus in mid-Sagittarius a little after 7:20 am EDT. The Great Attractor is located right at the midpoint of Sagittarius. It is a point that contains something — nobody is quite sure what, but some kind of dark matter — way way way beyond our galaxy. It makes the Galactic Core look so close it’s like a walk to the 7-Eleven. The Great Attractor emphasizes any desires for a little extra personal space. It has a detached feeling, and it can polarize people in ways that seem ‘for or against us’ — but the thing to remember is that when you have strong Great Attractor energy with you, your detractors cannot really touch you. Try acting like you’re not threatened if someone challenges you and see how well it works.<\/p>\n

That said, Pholus has been sitting on the Great Attractor for a while, and it’s precisely there right now, stirring the pot. Pholus’ phrase is ‘small cause, big effect’. Remember the idea from yesterday of meeting irritants with empathy and equanimity? The same holds today. Take a moment to ask yourself why you\u2019re feeling what you\u2019re feeling before reacting outwardly, then keep your attention on saying only what you truly mean — not more. A little goes a long way sometimes, and this is one of those times. You can afford to nudge yourself toward optimistic, because as you keep rolling, so does the Moon. <\/p>\n

One last point, so to speak: Ixion. This is a not-so-minor minor planet that has also been working the Great Attractor. Here’s the thing to remember with this placement: there’s actually a difference between right and wrong. Wrong is not necessarily what makes you feel guilty; rather, when you look closely at everyday actions and transactions, it’s possible to discern a difference between conduct that is responsible or not.<\/p>\n

That mid-Sag alignment of the Moon also puts it into an opposition with Mars in Gemini, and trine Mercury in Leo, adding a little, um, verve to whatever inclinations you may have to give someone what-for. A real conversation is possible. See if you can channel that drive into some long-needed business communication or public performance instead of being a yente<\/em>. That\u2019s an arena where assertiveness is more likely to get you where you want to go, rather than simply alienating loved ones. This Moon placement in theory only lasts a small part of the day, but your relationships have more longevity. Give them the expansiveness of heart and soul a Sagittarius Moon suggests, and your beach party Thursday night can only be a hit.<\/p>\n
