Today is Monday, June 27, 2011<\/a><\/strong>. The waning Moon in mid-Taurus is closing in on the Sun in early Cancer, ramping up energy toward the third and final eclipse of this latest sequence. In a sense, this presents a bit of a paradox: the sense of \u2018winding down\u2019 that waning Moon energy brings is being overlaid with the build-up to an eclipse. There is, however, a point of reconciliation between the two, since this is a South Node eclipse \u2013 and the themes of that point get an energy boost from a sextile between Mars and Uranus early this morning. <\/p>\n

Eclipses at the South Node, or tail of the dragon, represent something being released. This is where the usual waning Moon energy finds its resonance. Despite that, you may be starting to feel an inner churning like you\u2019re a washing machine — but it\u2019s only to shake loose old dirt so it\u2019s free to be rinsed away. This is, after all, a water-sign eclipse in the Moon\u2019s home sign, so the Cancerian themes run deep: home, family and the past, as well as trust, growth and nurturing. You can release anything blocking you from experiencing these themes in a healthy and supportive way now if you pay attention and give it an outlet, whether spiritually via prayer, symbolically via ritual or literally by giving away things to charity. <\/p>\n

The sextile between Mars in Gemini and Uranus in Aries reinforces this theme of discerning no longer needed elements of the past from your desired future. A sextile is a flowing aspect that generally means help or support is available to you, if you are willing to ask for it. It is the nature of Mars to make distinctions between one thing and another and this suggests the principle of focused and directed energy brought to bear on very specific material concerns. Uranus also makes distinctions, but not simply between the differences of one thing and another but also whether that thing is in service to the future or the past. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

So today as feelings, ideas, people, places and things float to the surface of consciousness, you have a little extra help in making distinctions between those holding you to the past and those that point to the future. Mars is giving you the desire to see the things restricting you for what they are and the drive to do something about it; Uranus is adding the extra juice you need to begin to put your energy elsewhere; the coming eclipse lends the potential for long-term consistency as you do. Over the next few months you can look for opportunities to release the past lovingly and thankfully. For now, it is enough simply to focus like a laser your attention, emotions, energy and resources on that which feels like the future. <\/p>\n
