I’ve been slowing down on my coverage of the Fukushima situation, waiting for Mercury to station direct so that I would have something more substantial to write about. Today my friend Jim Schaeffer sent along this list of articles, compiled by the Vesica Institute for Holistic Studies<\/strong><\/a>, which update the food safety situation for North America. The information in these links is too extensive to personally verify, but it is a starting point in the long process of becoming informed.<\/p>\n

Straight away, I would note that we are hearing absolutely none of this in the mainstream media, whether you’re talking about Fox, MSNBC or The New York Times<\/em>. It’s as if the issue does not exist. Think about this for a second. Think about it as you read over these links. If all you read is the newspaper or all you watch is cable news or network news, then everything is fine.<\/p>\n

We have been aware that the whole situation is being consciously downplayed so as not to panic the public. Very low levels of radiation are dangerous to some people and all fetuses. Were the real risks explained or even alluded to, a lot of people would start asking questions. <\/p>\n

If you are pregnant, you simply must take care about this, and learn what to eat and not eat and how to minimize your exposure. Fetuses are vulnerable because certain elements of the genetic code, endocrine system and key organs are developing, and the rapid development stage is where the mutations tend to get in. The rest of us would do well to consider adjusting what and how we eat. There are reasons that anyone is anti-nuclear as a political or environmental position. It’s not because it’s so groovy. It’s because of the way that the fallout created by a meltdown ends up in the food chain, and and then continually recycles itself over and over again.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The isotopes get into the air, the water and then food. As you will read, not all foods are equal. Some tend to collect radiation; some concentrate it; some are less susceptible. The effect will not be the same in all people, either. Even the same dosage will affect different people many different ways — due to preexisting factors, how your genetic code is doing, how your immune system is doing, whether you’ve had prior exposures, and other factors. <\/p>\n

One last point to make is that the radiation releases are not over. They seem to be as high as ever, or higher. The more that is released, the more will collect in the ‘background level’ of the Northern Hemisphere. I recognize that this is not happy news, indeed that it’s too much for most people to consider. I also know how few people are likely to be concerned. I’ve spent a lot of time around people for whom exposure to deadly toxins is imminent, and their lack of care is one of the mysteries of my life. It is one of the most revealing things about the human race that I have seen in my time here, and I don’t understand it. But as Gary Null once said to me during a live interview on the subject, it’s all about one’s agenda. For those who care, this is some information you may find helpful.<\/p>\n

I would add that in my opinion, it’s necessary to do more than take iodine. The body’s first line of defense, and really, its last, is the immune system. Above all else that is the thing you must take care of. That is something you can do — though you need to make informed choices, both by reading and talking with people who have informed opinions. I think that antioxidants will be a key part of staying safe(r), and apparently miso soup is something famous for helping avert the dangers of radiation. <\/p>\n

<\/strong> Radioactive Fallout Has Been Confirmed Across the Entire Northern Hemisphere of the Earth<\/a><\/p>\n

FRENCH NUCLEAR RESEARCH GROUP CRIIRAD ISSUES WARNING AGAINST CONSUMING SPECIFIC FOODS FOR ENTIRE COUNTRY OF FRANCE<\/a><\/p>\n

All French citizens were warned against consuming rainwater, leafy greens, and all milk derived products (including from goats and sheep as well as cows) due to radioactive fallout contamination in Europe. The U.S. and Canadian governments still claim that all of the above foods are safe in North America, even for infants and pregnant women; unfortunately the reality is that the level of radioactive fallout present here is 8 to 10 times greater that of France and the rest of Europe.<\/p>\n

FALLOUT MAPS FOR NORTH AMERICA<\/a><\/p>\n

These maps, made available by the Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU), show which areas of North America have received or will soon receive the highest dumps of radioactive fallout from Fukushima. The maps show during which time periods to expect incoming fallout in specific areas. It is a tragedy and a scandal that the U.S. and Canadian governments do not provide such information to its citizens. The link below will take you to a page where you can click on which radioactive fallout element to track over which area of the world. Be aware that the amount of fallout already on the ground in North America will continue to affect us for a long time to come, even if concentrations shown on this mapping (which shows current streams of new fallout from Fukushima) become less intense in the future.<\/p>\n

This is a clear sign of how bad things are: to continue the illusion that the fallout crisis is not dangerous, the EPA is planning to increase dramatically the official guidelines for ?safe levels? of radiation – even though their current guidelines are already unrealistically high and inaccurate for risks from radioactive contamination of air, food and water.<\/p>\n

MAINSTREAM MEDIA IS IGNORING REPORTS OF RADIOACTIVE CESIUM FALLOUT TO FOCUS ON RADIOACTIVE IODINE<\/a><\/p>\n

Since Radioactive Iodine has a short half-life of 8 days, whereas Cesium has a half life in some cases of 30 years, this is another tactic to obscure the long-term danger in North America.<\/p>\n

The non-profit Low-Level Radiation Campaign website<\/a> has a wealth of helpful information, including good rebuttals to false media reports such as those stating that the Chernobyl accident was ?not as bad as people think?<\/p>\n

NaturalNews website<\/a> is another frequently updated source of information on the fallout crisis:<\/p>\n

SPECIFIC FOODS AND GEOGRAPHIC AREAS OF CONCERN<\/p>\n

<\/strong>Below is a summary of key areas and food products of highest concern.<\/p>\n

We strongly recommend that you do energetic testing of foods from these areas before consuming them to see if they strengthen or weaken you, using<\/p>\n

The Entirety of the Northern Hemisphere around the world is affected by fallout, as well as the Pacific Ocean.<\/p>\n

Most Serious: Japan, Pacific Ocean, and Pacific Rim States<\/p>\n

Most Contaminated food areas of North America (based on fallout wind spread patterns charted by European scientific research agencies) in order of likely intensity of contamination, starting with the most contaminated:<\/p>\n

\u30fbEntire Pacific Coast (note that much of the produce in North America comes from this region, especially California)<\/p>\n

\u30fbNorthern U.S. States close to Canada, and Canadian areas close to the U.S. (including Toronto etc.)<\/p>\n

\u30fbEastern States<\/p>\n

\u30fbCentral States of the U.S., and Far Northern areas of Canada<\/p>\n

SAFEST AREAS OF ORIGIN FOR FOOD PRODUCTS<\/p>\n

The majority of contamination is in the northern hemisphere and the Pacific Ocean region. Most of the Southern Hemisphere has little to no fallout (the exception is the Southern Hemisphere in the Pacific; Australia for example is finding radioactive fish in the ocean, so although they may not get much atmospheric fallout they are affected by the massive contamination of the Pacific Ocean.)<\/p>\n

Also note that radioactive contamination is being found on non-food products being imported from Japan.<\/p>\n

Safest Areas of Origin for food products:<\/p>\n

Central America (avoid items from the Pacific Coast area of Mexico)<\/p>\n

South America<\/p>\n

Africa<\/p>\n

Europe is also far less contaminated that North America, although it is also experiencing significant fallout; so it is a better source for products than North America, however not as good as Southern Hemisphere sources. (However some South American produce may contain high levels of pesticides not allowed to be used in the U.S. or Canada.)<\/p>\n

ITEMS OF SPECIAL CONCERN FROM AFFECTED AREAS<\/p>\n

Most affected:<\/p>\n

All Ocean-Derived Products from the Pacific Ocean: the Fukushima accident dumped millions of times the normal background levels of radiation into the Pacific, where it is affecting the entire ocean (most toxic near Japan and bordering areas, but now reaching to the US West Coast: debris from the Tsunami in Japan is also expected to start washing up on the West Coast in the near future.) There are already reports of Pacific Fish showing radioactive contamination.<\/p>\n

This indicates a need to be cautious regarding:<\/p>\n

All Pacific Ocean Fish<\/p>\n

Sea Salt or Ocean Minerals derived from the Pacific<\/p>\n

All Pacific Seaweed and Sea Vegetables (order Atlantic Ocean seaweed at www.theseaweedman.com )<\/p>\n

Milk and all Dairy Products (butter, cheese etc.) from all animals: Cows, Goats, and Sheep (dairy products have the most intense immediate absorption of radiation from fallout). Radioactive contamination of milk has been found throughout the United States, especially on the West Coast.<\/p>\n

Any plant with a large surface area exposed to the air while growing: The most intense radiation absorption in plants is through rain falling directly on the leaves of the plant, where it is directly absorbed. Rainwater absorbed through the earth into the plant is already of much lower radiation intensity due to the filtering affect of the soil.<\/p>\n

All broad leaf plants and plants with large surface areas grown in the open air (rather than in greenhouses) are the most contaminated, for instance Salad Greens, Spinach, Cabbage etc. Contaminated crops in California (carrying radioactive iodine and cesium) have already been confirmed by UC Berkeley.<\/p>\n

[Carrots and other root vegetables are less contaminated due to growing underground.]<\/p>\n

Water from Rainwater or Open Lake type catchments: instead drink bottled water, or water from underground wells or other underground sources (radiation is greatly reduced when the particles have to travel through the ground.)<\/p>\n

PREGNANT (OR BREASTFEEDING) WOMEN AND YOUNG CHILDREN SHOULD ESPECIALLY BE CAREFUL REGARDING THESE ITEMS COMING FROM FALLOUT AFFECTED AREAS<\/p>\n
