As I mentioned, I am not podcasting today, and we won&#8217;t be publishing a regular issue Friday. Today Planet Waves will be offering a diversity of coverage from the oil spill one year ago. A fair amount of our coverage consisted of investigating the proximity of old ordnance dumps to the site. We established that both the government and the oil companies knew that at the bottom of these undersea canyons were numerous dumps of weaponry that was left by war ships returning home from WW II, Korea and Vietnam. No other news outlet covered this story &#8212; until finally, <em>The New York Times<\/em> picked it up about six months later.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the content will be from this daily blog, and other articles will be from our Friday series for subscribers. The first one we have planned is called &#8220;Tales of Topographic Oceans,&#8221; the lead article from a Friday subscriber issue.
