He will be under &#8216;mansion arrest&#8217;, and have a diversity of other requirements, like reporting to the principal&#8217;s office every day. His diet will be restricted to Swedish meatballs and Swedish fish. On Fridays he will be allowed to have fish and finger pie. Assange will also be required to leave one arm, one leg and his frontal lobe with Her Majesty&#8217;s court.<\/p>\n<p>Anna Ardin has been hired on as entertainment for \u00a31,500 a day, fulfilling her longstanding desire to&#8230; Okay just kidding about that part. In the UK court, Sweden is being represented in the extradition process by the British government. Its own attorneys do not appear. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vancouversun.com\/news\/WikiLeaks+founder+Julian+Assange+granted+bail\/3986567\/story.html\">Here&#8217;s how the <em>Sun<\/em> reported it <\/a>&#8212;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>There was confusion over whether Britain or Sweden had been behind the bid to deny him bail. A spokeswoman for Sweden&#8217;s prosecution authority said the case was in British hands.<\/p>\n<p>Britain&#8217;s Director of Public Prosecutions told BBC radio that prosecutors had been acting as the agents for the Swedish government but declined to comment on the specifics of the case.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Irish news site <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breakingnews.ie\/world\/bail-decision-day-for-assange-485904.html\">BreakingNews.ie<\/a> reported today:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed this morning that it made the call to appeal against bail but would not comment on whether Sweden had any input in the decision.<\/p>\n<p>A spokeswoman said: \u201cIt is standard practice on all extradition cases that decisions regarding bail are taken by the domestic prosecuting authority.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would not be practical for prosecutors in a foreign jurisdiction, who are neither present in court when decisions are made, nor familiar with the domestic laws concerning bail, to make such decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Assange\u2019s lawyer Mark Stephens called the decision \u201chighly irregular\u201d and said British prosecutors had asked City of Westminster Magistrates\u2019 Court for time to consult with Swedish authorities after bail was granted on December 14.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cThe question we have to ask is if they weren\u2019t talking to the Swedes, who were they talking to?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s highly irregular because, as (director of public prosecutions) Keir Starmer said on Radio 4 this morning, the CPS are supposed to act as the agents of the Swedish authorities and they appear to be acting without the knowledge of their director or the Swedes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt remains opaque and unclear as to who actually gave the order to oppose bail.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A full extradition hearing is expected in early February, after two eclipses and with Mercury direct &#8212; a good thing.<\/p>\n<p>Below is a bit from Russian Television.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"480\" height=\"385\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/dFKV9F-y6hU?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><\/object><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So &#8212; it seems that Julian has been again granted bail and will be free today if the paperwork can be processed in time.
