The word is a much older name for a Northern European goddess by the name of Hel or Hella from which the name of the country Holland is derived. The word was stolen, appropriated, corrupted in the 16th century, not coined. Interesting synchronicity tho as her image is half skeleton, half beautiful woman. Reminds me of the lead photo from Book of Blue, the discussion of Nessus and recognizing our wounds and all that. To worship her is to accept the whole wave of existence, not just the part above the horizon. The Teutonic Kali? Yeah I think a huge part of our culture’s wound is to sweep Hella under the rug and hope she goes away, all the noise and poison of our culture a ruckus of massive proportions to drown out our fear of the silence of the dead.

Also I wanted to continue the conversation about non-ejaculatory orgasms we started in your daily blog a couple of weeks ago. I lost the thread as the speed of my life went into warp drive for a little while. So with non-ejaculatory orgasms you’re not forcibly holding back the semen. I see it as integrating the inner feminine in that you’re not rushing to the edge and falling over into squirt-gasm, but slowing down, even stopping for long enough to fall back from the edge. You don’t chase after an orgasm, you let it find you when it’s ready. Part of the technique does involve strengthening your pelvic muscles, principally the Pubococcygeus muscle that’s like a sling stretching from the tip of your tailbone to the pelvic bone holding the root of the penis and prostate gland in a man and the vagina in a woman. But you’re using the pelvic muscles more to direct the Qi away from the automatic desire to make babies into a more intentional desire for healing and self actualization. Sperm has more functions that simply to make more humans. It’s vigor is also like a battery in your root.
The real trick to non-ejaculatory full body orgasms isn’t slamming shut the gates, but redirecting the Qi from up and out to down and in, into the Microcosmic Orbit which is comprised of the governor and conception channels recognized by acupuncturists. The governor channel runs from the root up the spine, over the center of the head, down to the upper lip where it enters the mouth and connects with the tongue when you close the circuit by touching the tongue to the roof of the mouth. The conception vessel begins where the meridian emerges under the bottom lip and descends down the center of the front of the body back to the root. When the Qi, or the energetic portion of the sperm learns to run in spirals around your body’s interior it isn’t so anxious to leap up and out. You can still ejaculate periodically with these techniques, and you should depending on your energy level based on interior sensitivity. Sperm is only deflected into the bladder if you’re doing it wrong. Mantak Chia calls it a retrograde orgasm when that happens. Ideally the sperm never leaves the seminal vessicle. I can feel the difference because it burns when it enters my bladder. Sperm is relatively hot.
As for the energy loss this isn’t theory for me. It’s based on years of practice. I used to ejaculate from 1-3 times every day so I didn’t have any means of comparison. But now that I only ejaculate maybe once a week or less I can compare my energy state to days when I don’t ejaculate. I find I need to eat more and my overall energy state is noticeably weaker for a whole day following an ejaculation. Musicians like Miles Davis recognized this a long time ago and refused to have sex before a gig. Of course, if he’d known how to have non ejaculatory orgasms he could have still had sex!

I know from my experience that before 2006 when I started to practice non-ejaculatory orgasms my overall energy state was weaker, I got sick more often and I had less will to get things done, more of a tendency to complain rather than do.

Sperm is powerful stuff and all of your organs sacrifice part of themselves to make it. Calling upon them to make more on a daily basis is hard on them. As for why women experience a similar energy slump sometimes, I don’t know. I’m not a woman and don’t have the direct interior experience with a woman-body like I do with my own.

Interior sensitivity is another aspect of integrating the feminine, or rather what men have tended to project onto women for the last 5000 years of empire building or so. It isn’t a matter of slamming shut the gates and holding the sperm prisoner by force. Developing vivid internal sensitivity so that you can feel when you’re approaching the lemming cliff where all men who don’t learn how to control themselves plunge when they have an orgasm is what’s needed to slow down, fall back, let the intensity subside enough to keep from falling over the edge into squirt-gasm. Internal sensitivity is also the core ingredient of learning to circulate your sexual qi rather than always shooting it at a target with the primal desire of making more babies. With this type of sex you’re not blindly chasing the prey of an orgasm with all your force extended. You’re maintaining a fire, keeping it from going out and also preventing it from burning down the house. You’re not seeking an orgasm, the orgam(s) find(s) you when they’re ready and when they do you’ll recognize the pathetic squirt-gasm as an evolutionary cul-de-sac we humans were steered into by empire builders who wanted to direct sex into the sole purpose of breeding more soldiers and slaves.

I discovered a lot of this by experimentation and by talking with my acupuncturist and kung fu teachers. I also learned a lot from a book by Mantak Chia called The Multiorgasmic Man. It combines ancient tech from Taoists with anatomy and research in the meme of western scientific method. You’d love it as it treats masturbation and anal stimulation as perfectly natural things as though they were no more a touchy subject than washing your hair or brushing your teeth. I wish I’d had that book when I was 12.

I hope this clarifies a little better what I was talking about in the original post. By the way, thank you for your courage and honesty in talking openly about sex. That’s the first step in taking back our power from the empire builders to heal ourselves and our relationship to the homeworld.

Groove on,

g

Eric, Sari says that the word Hell was coined in the 16th century.
