I am still trying to figure out what cycle is involved in the special once-per-28-year prayer<\/a> being said today as part of the Passover<\/a> or Pesach<\/em> holiday, which begins tonight at sundown.<\/p>\n

Twenty-eight years is one Saturn cycle and it’s one cycle of the progressed Moon. Jews, who use a lunar calendar, are celebrating this as the return of the Sun to its position that the universe was created 5,769 years ago. Of course, since the universe was created slightly longer ago than that, the position of the Sun on the day that it wasn’t created may have only limited value, unless of course this prayer is personally meaningful to you.<\/p>\n

But I’m still curious what is involved; I’ve telegraphed the guy who usually knows this stuff, Phil Sedgwick. I’ll let you know if I hear from him.<\/p>\n

As you can see in the chart below, the Moon is full tomorrow morning in the United States, afternoon in Europe and the UK and overnight Thursday to Friday in Oz. this is a busy little Full Moon. The stand-out aspect is Sun conjunct Eris \/ Moon opposite Eris. Eris is the farthest known planet (properly, a dwarf planet but I don’t usually use that term). If you ask me, Eris is the patron saint of our era; the discord and chaos implied in the mythography involve the chaos of identity that we live in, and in general the kaleidascopic quality that our lives have at the moment.<\/p>\n

We live in a time when there is no center. In eras past, it was the family, the church, the government, the nation, the special relationship. Today we fake making these things the center, and we live in a universe that is an enormous swirl of overlapping realities.<\/p>\n

Part of this story is told in the triple conjunction forming between Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune, which will be exact at the end of May but which is a significant influence even today. The two slow movers in this equation — Chiron and Neptune — have gradually been working toward a conjunction for about five y years. That aspect currently happens about once every 60 years, and it is one of the gems that is defining this era of our lives, and of history.<\/p>\n

As part of this Full Moon, we have Venus in Aries doing something fancy, which is backing over the Aries Point into the last degree of Pisces. There are several other sign-changes in the neighborhood. Mercury is about to arrive in Taurus. Vesta, the celibate sacred whore, is about to arrive in Gemini. These are inner planets; they are closely involved with very immediate environmental factors, like how the world feels, how our personalities fit into existence and so on. These movements are rearranging the psychic landscape.<\/p>\n

The most impressive of the lot is Venus, backing into Pisces, where she will stay for 10 days – occupying one degree of the zodiac – as she stations direct on April 17.
