Simone from Book of Blue. Today is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Simone de Beauvoir, the French author and philosopher. Simone (the elder) possessed the aspect of Venus precisely conjunct Chiron in her natal chart, in Aquarius. She was a poignantly articulate feminist on the subject of the female wound. Her best known book, Le Deuxième Sexe (1949), explored the ways and means by which women are taught to be something other than a full-fledged person. Prior cover: Small World Stories.
