![]() Paris may be the most literate city in Europe. The thriving Bookiniste scene along the left and right banks of La Seine provides a constant source of rarities and oddities along one of the city's most popular thoroughfares. Bookmongers get free rent from the city, but often must wait a decade for a space to open up. Among other things, there seems to be a fetish for Sixties paraphernalia and literature, and a constant appreciation for photography. Photo by Eric Francis. Prior cover: Stairway to Taurus.
