Thursday afternoon, protesters were barricaded into Zuccotti Park, and used the human microphone to encourage one another to keep cool and not fight back against police who were continually provoking them. Under the circumstances this was extremely challenging, but that's the essence of the provocation: to use police power to push people to the breaking point, then beat them bloody.
