Astrology Today: Oracle for Friday, Jan. 18, 2013

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Cancer weekly for Oct. 22, 1999

Astrology Blog: The Oracle, Weekly Horoscopes, Monthly Horoscopes.

Look for good things to be coming your way from across oceans, from foreign lands, and from people with accents. And while we’re on the subject of Jupiter and his devotees blessing you, people with educations, wider visions and those who know the difference between right and wrong will be the ones who make the coming week one that you will remember for a long time. As for anyone else who may enter the picture: now that you are more the object of desire than you’re accustomed to being, you get to command a bit more respect. Set your terms, and make people play by their own rules. Everyone will be happier.

Note, The Oracle is a random selection from the Eric Francis horoscope archives. Each day we publish one entry from among the 10,000 in our database. It’s a little slice of horoscope history — but chosen by our Oracle program, which always speaks to the present moment. New horoscopes are published each Friday plus twice a month in Planet Waves subscriber edition and Planet Waves Light.

Glad to hear it Xtica; actually I took a little liberty by saying Jupiter was in his fall in Gemini when he is actually in his detriment in Gemini. I just liked the way it sounded!

Speaking of “knowing right from wrong” and “playing by the rules”, it seems that this last year of popular and widely-reported-on sports figures falling from grace because of their lies (Sandusky, Armstrong, and the Notre Dame dude), is another take on Jupiter in Gemini. Jupiter, who was the first and the most distinguished Olympic Games figure, and who was also known for his fallibility, has been in Gemini since last June. Gemini, ruled by the trickster Mercury, has a reputation of not always reporting the truth. Jupiter is supposed to be in his “fall” in Gemini.

As a most important feature of the Winter Solstice, the Yod (or Finger of God) aspect has Jupiter at the apex in Gemini and being pushed from both sides by Pluto in Capricorn on one and Saturn in Scorpio on the other. Capricorn represents achievement and rules, while Scorpio represents deeply kept secrets. Pluto and Saturn are in a mutual reception as well as in a sextile, and as Saturn represents authority and Pluto represents uncompromising force, there is no escaping their directives.

In the U.S. Sibly birthchart natal Uranus was joined by transiting Jupiter, the focal point of the Solstice Yod aspect and Uranus can mean shock, surprise and the unexpected. Jupiter will remain in the yod aspect until the Spring Equinox in March so expect more unexpected surprises as he is still going to be conjunct the U.S. Uranus, although not quite so tightly!
