Introducing: Isha

The latest resident of the Grandmother Land is Isha, a nine-week-old German shepherd, the daughter of Quax and Maya. As you can see, she is in early training to be a search and rescue dog. Her dad is an air-scent search dog who finds live people and Maya is a cadaver dog. Photo by Eric Francis.

    i miss her!

all puppy love and sharp little marauding teeth and flopping into the grass. the ears just kill me, and her coat is too gorgeous for words.

so far though, the uniform doesn’t stop her from trying to wander into the road, but i have faith she’ll learn quickly.

My favorite breed and she’s a beauty! And she’s gonna be a big girl – just look at those front legs and paws! Yowza.

    Love the pic!

So cute I can’t stand it, well, barely. She was all work that moment, five minutes earlier, all puppy. The jacket goes on and she goes to attention. German shepherds are so smart it’s daunting. Her father is a talented search dog, friendly and determined when out of the cage and your worst enemy when defending turf. Maya is all heart and brain, pint sized, a beauty. Amanda asked that I post this picture…she’s a fan…

D-g, Dawg! What an amazing picture. And she is so beautiful! I like how she holds her stance; like a Lion Guard. This photo is a keeper, perhaps framed or on the door. And she’s an Isha, perfect. And a Anubis a-a- newbie newbie! I want a matching harness…

  7. Way too freakin’ cute!

Now, that is one great looking dog. Those ears, the eyes, the tilt of the head – ready to work and all business. Thank you for what somehow amounts to an inspiration.
