    Marilee:

If I did, I would have woken up with ectoplasmic pumpkin viscera and those goddamn seeds in my bed!

    Fe –

    What, no stuffing? Truly frightening!

I think you were visited by the Great Pumpkin – thank goodness you didn’t yell Pumpkin Pie!

    On another note:

Last night I felt a presence while dreaming, pressing down on me while I was asleep. My breathing became forced and I felt a vibratory breath in my ear.

Immediately I started yelling in my sleep all the words from an article I had read from a magazine before I went to bed. It was Saveur. And the words I yelled out were “roast turkey!” “cranberry sauce!” “Roasted yams!” and “pie!”.

I woke up with a start, laughing my ass off.

I feel the same way about Rockie. I miss her column, and these days the impulse to log into LA Weekly to read her and then stopping, knowing that she’s gone, is akin to “ghost limb” syndrome. Her passing is a hole in the world.

and how lucky for us that you found her.

Please allow me to use this space to pay tribute to the person who served as my gateway to astrology, Ms. Rockie (Rachelle) Gardiner. She passed from this plane one year ago, October 31, 2008 at 11:11 AM. She was featured in the type of free tabloids often found in coffee houses and other places of boho rapport. As a young woman she left Eric’s neck of the woods and moved to Southern California to stay. A solar Sagittarian, she was talented at manifesting and thus found a way to make a living as an astrologer. She was also very private and skillfully concealed the details of her own chart, birth data and family life. By reading her i learned the basics of astrology because she did not conceal the elements of her craft. Looking back at what she wrote in her last weeks, i should have known what was up. i like to think that she flew off in the direction of the star known as Elnath. i miss you Rockie.
