It was tough to earn the badges after I “Flew Up”. Tying knots just about put me over the edge.
Girl Scouts are different than Boy Scouts — different emblems, BSA has more merit badges…
Now youve got me digging out my old badge sash. I don’t remember it being all pink and church-y…..but then I don’t remember anyone questioning church and state and community quite so much ‘back then’ either…. and then again, nor was I allowed to be a Boy Scout. As Girls the focus was more on indoor activities like cooking and sewing related badges.

To me it just looked like something I’d earn if I could manage to make pastrami out of yak meat.
Citizenship in the Community.
I agree, the church is weird. But the requirements are pretty cool.
Personally I think we all need to go through these steps…or serve six months as a municipal reporter on a small paper. Most people who think they have an opinion about government haven’t got past the DMV counter.
