Much seems to be at stake, and as the song goes, sometimes the cards are worth a damn if you don’t lay ’em down. But you are entering a phase of your life in which clarity is the key note. You need to know where people stand. You are free to ask them, and ask them for updates. And you don’t need to reveal yourself until you have a sense that you’re being told the truth. But if we’re going to share what can rightly be called a mutual reality, then everyone has to bring their reality to the discussion, own it, and work from there.
