Scorpio x 4: Biden’s astrology; alleged Obama murder plot

Dear Friend and Reader:

SO WHO is Joe Biden? I first heard his name when I was a staff reporter at the Echoes-Sentinel in 1987 (Somerset County, NJ). This kid named Jake Perry, who I think still works there, rattled his name off of a list of potential Democratic candidates for the 1988 election. Biden was knocked out of the race by allegations of plagiarism. There were also earlier allegations of the same in law school. Perhaps it’s true, as Ezra Pound once said, that “good writers borrow and great writers steal.” Anyone with an English degree can tell you that.

It's not about sex. It's about Self
Vice Presidential candidate Joe Biden with his wife Jill.

Biden has been senator from Delaware since 1973 (he was elected in an upset victory in 1972, the year of the Nixon landslide in the midst of Watergate). He was one of the youngest senators in U.S. history, becoming a member at 30, the minimum age. So he’s got some mileage on his clock and is definitely what you would call a Beltway insider. Shortly after entering the Senate his wife and children were killed in a car accident; only two of the kids survived, making full recoveries. This seems to be relevant in that extreme trials tend to bring out a person’s humanity.

So when we think that losing a wife and child are a comment on his character, remember there is a pretty serious question down there — how is he going to treat people once he has irrevocable power? This is what we are trying to figure out.

I jokingly call him Senator from the Corporations. Take a look at your credit card statement. The bank is probably based in Delaware, which has lenient tax laws and hence a large constituency of companies. Biden was instrumental in passing the bankruptcy reform law in 2005, and has long associations with a major holding company of credit card banks, called MNBA. The problem here is that it took credit card debt out of the bankruptcy provisions. And that debt is killing America; and it’s a habit that was pushed on us like an addictive drug.

Looking at his noon chart, we see a quadruple Scorpio — Mars, Mercury, Sun and Venus. This makes him charming, if nothing else. I knew this chart reminded me of someone, and I just remembered who it is — Charles Manson. Charlie has a Sun-Venus conjunction in Scorpio, plus Jupiter and Mercury in Scorpio. Charlie’s chart is, however, considerably more troubling — Mars conjunct Neptune in Virgo says it all (methodical and delusional in equal measure) — but what that Sun-Venus-Scorpio gives both of these guys is a kind of inexplicable aura of charisma.

Because this is a noon chart, we don’t know where his Moon is; like everyone else associated with the 2008 presidential election, his birth time doesn’t exist (I am still suspect of Obama’s birth time, despite the release of a birth certificate recently).

Using noon puts his Moon at 2+ Taurus, so if he was born during the day or the evening of Nov. 20 we have someone with a Taurus Moon; if he was born overnight or early in the morning, it’s a late degree Aries Moon. Hmmm, taking a guess — he’s had the same job for 35 years? He endured the loss of his wife and child, a double brain aneurysm, and allegations that he’s a plagiarist? He’s probably got a Taurus Moon, which makes him a Full Moon birth; which means that we really don’t know the guy.

A Full Moon birth is about as polarized as one’s personality can get; you seem to stand between two entirely different worlds. We all have a solar self and a lunar self, and the relationship between the Sun and the Moon tells us something about it. Beneath the guy’s smooth exterior is a lot of conflict. Not a little, a lot. Now by the time you’re in your 60s, you’ve worked out a bunch of this, with any luck, but the guy has no shortage of instability.

However, I will concede that I trust him to be vice president more than I do Dick Cheney. So grading on a curve, he gets an A-minus. Being a longtime Washington insider is probably good for the country. It would make him less inclined to declare martial law, but then so, too, would the federal budget.

As for news of the alleged murder plot against Obama, it sounds like an episode of South Park. Best to leave it that way. (One of the guys allegedly said they were going to shoot the candidate from a distance of 750 yards, just under half a mile.) A long shot. We need to be attentive to something a little more point blank.

  1. For many years, I worked as a waitress in a country club in southeastern PA, near Wilmington, Delaware, land of Biden. Let me say this: he really pissed those people off. Especially the ones at the bar who the Rush Limbaugh ones hated for being “liberal.” Those guys–those supposedly liberal whites–singled out Biden for blame, for dismissal. (He wasn’t their senator: it was across the state line.) It was weird, actually, their venom, I couldn’t figure it out. They never went after even Bill Clinton like that. I never paid much attention to politics, but I did notice after that what Biden was voting for, that he was one of the few men in congress I ever saw voice actual support for women & minorities & reality, etc.. I think this is why he pissed the country club “liberals” off–it’s not far away, it’s actual change close to home. It’s real. They don’t like real change. (These are the same kind of guys I could easily see secretly not voting for a black president but lying to pollsters about that).

As for Biden and the bankruptcy law: it’s easy to single out the credit card bill he voted for, but Delaware? Everyone in the state who is making ends meet seems to work for a credit card company. It is a company town, for sure, and the company is MBNA/Chase/HSBC/etc. or whatever they change the names of the banks to that year. I don’t know much about Delaware politics, but I do know that the landscape of Delaware is an extreme of our national mall/SUV/latte (with a few GMO cornfields and Mcmansioned beaches thrown in for good measure) & it always surprised me that their long-term elected official was someone decent and Massachusetts/NYC-degrees of liberal. The two things somehow didn’t go together. It’s not like Massachusetts where you’ve got hummus & montessori schools left & right.

But now I get it. Seeing all that Scorpio up there, anchored by that exalted moon—that’s how he does it! The decency seems anchored in that moon—the Sun can then go deal with the fight we need an insider/veteran/can’t-keep-the-Scorp-down type to win for us right now. The moon is where it’s at. The mom, the wife, the lost wife & daughter, not to mention his brilliant sister who runs his campaigns: Biden’s heart is here & these are good women. He seems to embody the pluses of Hillary, but hidden in a dude, and a little more warm-blooded at the core.
