Scorpio Mars square Leo Jupiter — and Astrology Mailbag

In tonight’s edition of Planet Waves FM, I comment on one aspect in the current sky — Mars square Jupiter, which will be exact Friday. I call this the “push the edge” aspect — it’s all about taking a chance on something you’re passionate about. In the second half of the program, I answer reader queries about the rising sign, locational astrology and how new planets are delineated by astrologers. Our musical guest is the magnificent Sloan Wainwright.

  1. There’s a lovely quote from the Walter Mitty movie: “Beautiful things don’t ask for attention.”

  2. There is such a gray area between egomania and self-confidence. Not that there should be, in a healthy world. But in our ultra-competetive society, there is. Personally, I have a very difficult time with it. It’s ingrained to be self-effacing unless in backed into a corner. I think people are generally threatened by those who are healthy enough to believe in their creativity and to share it with the world. I know I feel jealous often.

Jealousy is something this Mars-Jupiter square is churning up, along with the desire for expression and recognition. “An externalization of an internal feeling.” Yup, indeed. Time to spend some time with our perception of self-assertion. I guess what is so uncomfortable about that is the absence of consideration for others– that arrogrance of a conceited person who confuses empowerment with overbearing ego. Like Eric said, there is a sense of guilt associated with that. Is there a way to be humble and confident? I want that.
