Astrology Today: Oracle for Friday, April 6, 2012

Today’s Oracle takes us to the Capricorn monthly for Jan. 22, 2008

Astrology Blog: The Oracle, Weekly Horoscopes, Monthly Horoscopes.

You may be shocked at how much you have going for you, if you look. I have finally decided that what most of the world suffers from is a depletion of self-esteem. Do you? Well, how would you know? It’s a little like the question, “Am I depressed?” Most people can’t describe a reality that they are sitting in the middle of. Anyway, the danger you face at the moment is that of allowing others to dictate your worth, or to tell you how you feel about yourself. There’s a vast amount of conformism on this issue of how we all feel about ourselves. Within certain groups, people are only allowed to be so happy, so successful, so sexually liberated, or so true to themselves. If they want to exceed that, they may face excommunication. As a result, there’s a strong tendency in our culture to aspire to mediocrity. This way, nobody is offended. And what has this got to do with you? Well, two forces are acting on you now. One, all of the nonsense I described above and two, the raging need to step out and be real. The two cannot coexist.

Note, The Oracle is a random selection from the Eric Francis horoscope archives. Each day we publish one entry from among the 10,000 in our database. It’s a little slice of horoscope history — but chosen by our Oracle program, which always speaks to the present moment. New horoscopes are published each Friday plus twice a month in Planet Waves subscriber edition and Planet Waves Light. And for your 2012 annual reading, you’ll find Revolution. Revelation. Reality Check.

  1. Bang on!!!

Carrie; I can relate to the ‘rain on my parade’ effect you have – I do the same thing (I put it down to Saturn in the 1st). The first thing I see when presented with the big picture is what is missing/out of place(order), imbalance, weakness etc. Tony Robbins wrote that the critic is the most hated, but also most important input in any organization. My first boss taught me by example that when disciplining us, he would first give us a little stroke. So now I do my best to first affirm the concept and the wonderful points about it. It really does make it easier on me and them, and I still get to be me!
It took this Scorpio FOREVER to learn that just my presence triggers people’s insecurities/shadow, which they then project onto me. I, also, have had enough of shrinking so that others feel comfortable in my presence.

  2. This is SO apropos right now for me. I have been thinking more and more about being myself instead of worrying about upsetting others. Sometimes being myself means saying what I see that needs fixed or worked on. Sometimes it means showing compassion. Sometimes it means being a bit harsh about what is real.

I have long been what I call a “balloon-popper.” That means when someone idealistically sends up a balloon of an idea, I will pop it with the pin of realism to bring the idea back down to the do-able earth.

My astrology teacher told me I make people uncomfortable for three reasons; a) I am willing to do the work in detail that needs doing when others don’t, b) I am the realist who tells everyone what will and will not work in a situation by bringing in the grounded reality of earth element, and c) I am smart and think ahead, far ahead.

I am tired of being someone else in order to be accepted by others. I am tired of conforming. This is the perfect oracle indeed!

  3. It does get really tiring being pinned down by other people’s thoughts, especially people that think they have you all figured out….no doubt family members are the worst offenders. These days I find it almost comical – the person being pigeon-holed doesn’t even exist except in the minds of those doing the pigeon-holing.
