What’s Your Passion? Astrology On Fire

Astrology this week begins by emblematically asking “What’s your passion?” Mercury entered Aries yesterday for the first time in a year. Today, the Sun opposes Mars for the first time in more than two years, all while the Moon moves through Leo. What all those events (and more) have in common is astrology’s archetypal fire and a correspondence to passion.

Astrology by Len Wallick

Aries and Leo (along with Sagittarius) are the ‘fire signs’. The red color of Mars also evokes fire (even though retrograde through cool Libra), as does the blazing Aries Sun opposing Mars today.

Based on what the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars and the fire signs represent, it’s symbolically hot up there. That’s not to say the other three elements associated with astrology (earth, air and water) are not well represented — they are. Nevertheless, fire is a dominant issue in the heavens right now.

Because you are part of the solar system, it makes sense for your life to be somewhat synchronized with the heavens, just as it is with the seasons. Hence, any issue implied above will probably show up in your life at the same time.

You may already have taken or given some heat since yesterday. You might have known the burn of either annoyance or enthusiasm over the weekend. If such has been your experience, please consider its probable purpose.

Any experience with fire, whether tangible or metaphorical, serves the purpose of understanding its core issue. At the heart of fire is a choice — your choice, to either be present with or consumed by whatever form the flame may take.

Given the explicit issues of our time and the implicit context of current astrology, the most likely expression of fire in your life now is passion. That’s how many of the choices you now face probably come down to whether you choose to be present with or consumed by your convictions, affections or desires. It’s a fine line to walk, but not an impossible task.

The task begins with a few questions for yourself. What lights your fire, floats your boat, tilts your windmill or grounds you in the moment? If you have a ready and heartfelt answer, you walk the line of knowing what you are vulnerable to being consumed by.

Strange as it may seem, any uncertainty about or alienation from your deepest motivations makes you even more vulnerable. That’s because nothing makes fire more dangerous than a lack of knowledge about it or a dearth of experience with it. Unless you are the very rare exception, any apparent absence of passion probably means you walk the line of not knowing either your most powerful potential or your greatest weakness.

Hence, the most important question you can ask today is the same one the sky is all but spelling out: “What’s your passion?” Even if you already know the answer, a timely inquiry can make you more aware of when your passion masters you rather than the other way around, allowing you to gain additional possession of yourself in the bargain.

Conversely, if you don’t know your passion, now is the time to find out. The alternative is sooner or later to be faced with a fire that originates inside of you, yet with which you are not familiar, only to be utterly lost.

So pay attention to what’s been getting your goat or flying your kite this week, because there your personal fire will be found. Once found, then to be mastered. Once mastered, then to be won. Once won, then to be one. It all starts now with a simple question.

  1. Mia: You are very, very welcome. It is a privilege to know my service has struck a chord and contributed to your amazing network of resources.

  2. Jere and Strawberry: You are both very kind to compare me with greater lights regardless of what follows the “Don”. Your complement is gratefully accepted.

    joya: You are most welcome.

Strawberry: Further to your first comment, you do have friends here. You have indeed come a long way since your first, hesitant participation in Planet Waves discussion. May an entire rainbow of different lights continue to advance your evolution.

Jere: Further to your first comment, the love is mutual.

be: Thank you for hooking us into current events through expansion on the blog theme as a way of tracking a compelling continuity in how the Goddess energy is progressing. Juno is on a roll all right, and steadily picking up other Goddess representations. Thank you for the time and effort you took to lay it all out so adroitly.

    P. Sophia: Thank you for sharing your passion so eloquently as to reveal yourself among the greater lights for whom all of us are thankful.

  3. Thanks for this article, Len.

It strikes a cord for me. Thank you for your wisdom and advice. You and a conversation with Rebecca has provided some clarity for me.

    And on we go …

    Mia

  4. ..Apologies Len, I meant Quixote, not Jaun, (still, I’m probably the only one laughing).

..Again, you are beautiful, and I do love you… one of these days my head will come out of my ass.. Eclipses, anyone?…

    Jere

  5. Len, no words can properly express my appreciation for the love and light you are and share.

…My Passion, all I want to be is me –shining brightly as the creative, dancing, spirit light-filled girl (that for so long turned to dim), radiating, freely loving and expressive being, always in the moment appreciating -all forms life and living, as God made me to be.

I know this is not too much to ask, and it is there for me and all of us to be and receive. And if I can just stay here, in this place then all of the other stuff works out, as it is meant and will be.

Strawberry, sending tears of joy to u too.

  6. Lilly Ledbetter’s passion is attaining equal pay for women and today, this first Nat’l Equal Pay Day, she introduced Pres. Obama whose executive order that no punitive action be taken toward employees of government contractors for revealing their personal pay amounts with one another is a step in the direction of equality. Mrs. Ledbetter wasn’t informed of the discrimination between what she made in salary compared to what her male co-workers, doing the same work as she, made for decades. Even then, it was through a secret note to her, unsigned, that she learned of it. The informant could have lost his/her job for doing that. (Sounds like a job for Askalaphus and today Asky is opposite Neptune!)

So now we know what Juno and the goddesses have been up to for weeks:

    * Pisces New Moon March 1st – Juno at 28+ Pisces was the point goddess in a yod with Vesta + north node at 29+ Libra (and Ceres at 1+ Scorpio on one side and Mars at 27+ Libra on the other side), and all 4 of them sextile Pallas at 1+ Virgo. Juno is about equality and the point of a yod is about adjustment.

    * March Virgo Full Moon Juno begins to close in on her conjunction with Uranus (breakthrough), she at 7+ Aries and Uranus at 11+ Aries. The Sun (consciousness) at 26+ Pisces was in a yod with Mars (action) at 26+ Libra sextile Pallas (strategy) at 27+ Libra. Mars was still tightly connected to Vesta (workaholic), NN and Ceres (determined). The full moon (women) in Virgo (work) opposite the Sun makes the yod into a boomerang and the energy was bouncing off all the walls.

    * Aries Equinox on March 20, Juno was only 2 degrees from Uranus who squared Jupiter (understand) in Cancer (who was in a grand trine with Chiron in Pisces and Moon in Scorpio) and squared Pluto in Capricorn. Saturn (rules) was trine the U.S. Sibly Mercury (as was the MC for chart in Washington DC), both (Moon’s) nodes were square U.S. Sibly Pluto (power), Mercury (message) was trine the U.S. Sibly Venus, Neptune (compassion) was trine the U.S. Sibly Jupiter (increase). The Equinox has marked this as a time for an attention getting traffic jam in U.S. policy.

    * March 30 Aries New Moon, and Juno now was at 14+ Aries opposing the U.S. Sibly Saturn (14+ Libra) and squared the U.S. Sun (13+ Cancer). Juno was still conjunct Uranus at 12+ Aries and they still squared Pluto (13+ Capricorn) and Jupiter (11+ Cancer) too.

Yesterday Juno opposed Mars and on Friday Juno will conjunct the Sun, and at the lunar eclipse a week from today, at 23+ Aries, she will be conjunct Eris (22+ Aries) and the Sun (25+ Aries) and the south node of release at 28+ Aries and square the U.S. Mercury (24+ Cancer). She and the Sun and Eris will be opposed the north node, the Moon and Ceres (25+ Libra) and Vesta (23+ Libra). The Sun will exactly trine Pallas at 25+ Leo and the eclipsed Moon and Ceres will exactly sextile Pallas. It will be time for Pallas to negotiate.

Without a passion life is boring. Passion gives meaning to life. Meaning is determined by how one’s passion serves (or harms) others. We are served by your passion to understand the purpose of the planetary pictures Len. Thank you for that.

  7. “What lights your fire, floats your boat, tilts your windmill or grounds you in the moment?”

    Brilliant, beautiful, lovely.

I hadn’t seen it in just this light, Len, but this morning I was writing an epic-length email to a friend about what it is that I most want. Interesting, that with my watery Sun in a cardinal sign and my angles & watery Moon on the fixed cross, all of that solidity craves emotional mutability — to allow the Love that I have and am the freedom to evolve, rather than be confined to what it “is” at the moment. To be fluid, & flow with the heart-stopping uncertainty of walking into this refiners’ fire. I am not what I was, even 6 months ago. And I can’t yet even see what I will be when Uranus finally moves on from its current position. But I can do this. 😉 I am doing this, with a little help from my friends. I’m so grateful to have them.

  8. Thank you, Len!

“Once found, then to be mastered. Once mastered, then to be won. Once won, then to be one.” —> LOVE it
