After traffic had been blocked for about an hour at the height of evening rush, I started to wonder how it was going to end. As protests went, this seemed to get the job done fine. I met a kid named Felix, who spoke good English because he had lived in Manhattan for a while. He said he'd heard that two things were going to happen. First, there was a general meeting over at the University in 15 minutes that a lot of people were going to attend, so that would thin out the crowd. Second, they would be using the street cleaning trucks mentioned in the introduction to hose down the crowd and clear the circle. However, instead of hosing everyone down, about 15 minutes later, the cops swept through the circle to contain things to one end, kind of like at Oregon Country Fair.
