A Journey Without Distance

Eric Francis is an internationally-published, award-winning investigative journalist, columnist, photographer, broadcaster and among the youngest professional research astrologers working in the United States today. His reporting, which spans twenty years and an astonishing array of subjects and themes, has been published in The Village Voice, Sierra, The New York Times and numerous other print and broadcast media in the US and abroad.

Among journalists, he is considered one of the world's leading experts on the menace of PCBs, dioxins and other forms of chlorine pollution, and the corporate scandals which led to their existence. He has also covered Congress, the American Medical Association, and the United States EPA, and recently uncovered a scam by some of the nation's most prestigious land trusts to steal private property from individual citizens. "He has a hunger for government documents that rivals that of Seymour Hersh," wrote The New York Times in an article about how Mr. Francis sued the State of New York in federal court for First Amendment violations, and was awarded a $20,000 judgment.

In 1994, Mr. Francis took his passion for astrology and metaphysics into the public realm, creating the Star-Navigator column and, shortly after, developing a talk radio program called Radio Navigator on legendary Radio Woodstock, WDST-FM. Both the column and the radio program brought astrology into the real world of environmental issues, political struggles and the human transformations they necessitate.

Several years later, he took the column weekly, changing the name to Planet Waves and expanding his presence to the internet. In less than one year online, Planet Waves has served more than 400,000 readers who have accessed the page 1.85 million times. Mr. Francis, in addition to being self-syndicated in newspapers and magazines in five states, writes the astrology column for America Online out of London, and continues to cover global, social and ecological issues, including genetic engineering and the death penalty, for newspapers, magazines and online media.

Unabashedly tackling some of the most difficult questions of our times, Mr. Francis encourages his readers and clients to lead lives dedicated to searching for knowledge and standing in the space of authentic personal expression.

Born a Pisces by the sea in Brooklyn in the late winter of 1964, Mr. Francis embodies the values, visions and necessities of the tumultuous, highly fertile era of history in which he joined the human family.
