by Carol McCloud www.GalacticAlchemy.com Mayan Moon Report: Week of May 31, 2004 Pulse of the Phoenix This week we will come to the last few days of the current time-pulse of Kan. There will be a sense that a foundation has been established and of something new unfolding. These are times of beginnings and endings. It is an important and powerful time in the pulse of the Mayan calendar cycle. The middle of this week brings us to a new time-pulse, called Caban, and its imagery is related to the Phoenix. This time is about the rising of awareness and for the next week or so we will be building our energies for the incredibly rare Venus transit on June 8, 2004. One week later, the day of the helical rise on June 15, is the last day of this 13-day time-pulse, and the most significant point in the cycle of Venus. It is the period when Venus is Reborn, just like the mythical Phoenix. From this point on and for the next 18 months there will be a new Archetype for our shamanic Venus journey. In Egypt the Phoenix is called Bennu, the sacred bird of Heliopolis. The Bennu bird held a major role in Egyptian mythology and it was in Heliopolis, the "City of the Sun" where all the works of creation began. Phoenix is about rebirth and death. Just as the new sun rises from the old, the Phoenix is reborn. The cycle of Venus relates very closely to this regeneration process and as we move into these next 13 days it will be a theme that manifests in many different ways in each one of our lives. MON 5/31 11 IX (eesh) White/North Keywords: jaguar, feminine energy, magician, shaman, inter-dimensional, time traveler, freedom, earth spirit, supernatural. Moon in Scorpio The eleventh day is the time in the pulse which relates to the ending and separation from attachments in our 13 day manifestation cycle. The number eleven deeply penetrates the membrane between worlds and takes us on a profound inner journey through the underworld. With the Moon now in Scorpio we will be feeling this powerful and transforming underworld journey as we let go of the old and prepare ourselves for the days to come. Ix is the day-sign that relates to the Jaguar Shaman. The Jaguar is the totem aligned with the darkness and allows us the ability to see through to the other side. When we are tuned in it provides us with the energies needed to move through this new cycle. Now and through the next several days will be a period where our relationships will continue to become more and more complex. Issues will come up that will have to be dealt with, but there are many factors needed to consider before any further action is taken. TUE 6/1 12 MEN (men) Black/West Keywords: eagle, thunderbird, clarity, insight, visionary, daring, achievement, bridges heaven and earth. The 12th day of the pulse takes us to a place of knowledge, of deep inner knowing. It is the last day of the "portal" days, which are aligned to our future seeing. This day brings with it a state of balance and the establishment of a new foundation of understanding. The day-sign of Men is the visionary Eagle. It is the totem that provides us with clearer sight of this world and all dimensions in between. The eagle eye of Men relates very closely to the symbolism of the Egyptian Eye of Horus. WED 6/2 13 CIB (keeb)Yellow/South Keywords: the word, aura, forgiveness, life test, sin, detached, private, lone, owl, vulture, independent, guide. Moon in Sagittarius This day of 13 Cib is that last day of the cycle of Kan, the future dreamer. We will have had these 13 days to build a new structure and foundation based on our intentions and focus. This day-sign helps us in our attainment to guides and guardians. Cib relates to the Hermit card in tarot or the Hierarchy of Masters known as the Lords of Karma. On this day be aware that we always have plenty of help in the subtle realms, but these realms do not function in the same way as in the dimension we live here on Earth. Be centered on the heart and the higher mind and all thoughts of want, desire or "lack of" will dissipate. Focus on the oneness and connection of all. Today Venus in Gemini opposes Pluto in Sagittarius. We will need to get to the truth of our inner/outer self love and value systems, and learn to communicate what we need. Our relationship issues will be represented in the form of some symbolic or archetypal image. Something that will give us some insight into the steps we need to take to be clearer and more present in our relationships to others may make itself known to us today. THU 6/3 1 CABAN (ka'ban) Red/East Keywords: earthquake, intelligence, knowledge, wisdom, great potential, understanding, evolution, incense, navigation. Full Moon (12 sag 56) Today is the first day of the time pulse of Caban, and is represented by the Phoenix. This is a very powerful time as mentioned in the introduction to this report. Today's full Moon is conjunct an astrological point in space called The Great Attractor. This point is something like a supercluster which contains many galaxies, but far bigger. Very little is understood about it but as we learn more about the structure of the universe these larger scale points will find their way into our understanding. Right now we can tune into these energies by looking at the Moon. This point is around the middle degrees of Sagittarius (14 sag 02) and has been described as an "agglomeration of matter." The gravitational pull in this space anomaly is so great that it is pulling our Milky Way and all local galaxies, including Andomeda, towards it. The effect of this gravitational pull as a point in an astrological chart is such that it can help us to consciously navigate the bends and folds of space and time, to move through and around the dimensions. With Sagittarius it can help bring us to the ultimate truth as long as we do not get caught up in the duality that holds us in separation from that T-ruth. This full Moon will therefore bring through and awaken within us some incredible energies. Tap into the deepest points of yourself and begin this new cycle fully turned on. Perhaps this day will help to open a galactic gateway and path to the stars as we move closer to the day of the Venus transit on June 7-8th. This is a day of making wishes, and focusing on intentions. A day of mediation, prayer, solitude and whatever brings you in to the center of yourself. FRI 6/4 2 ETZNAB (etz'nab) White/North Keywords: two edged sword, knife, blade, noble, yin/yang, miracles, suffering, mirror, sacrifice, shatter, destruction, genetic tree. Moon in Capricorn We are in the second day of the pulse as the Moon enters Capricorn. Today is the day-sign of Etznab, the sword of truth and integrity. Capricorn cannot easily express what it is feeling, and these days with many other planetary energies are making it a requirement to get to the truth of things, no matter how difficult it is or how much it may shake up our world. This is no time to think small. Etznab will give us some tools to see our way through the hall of mirrors. Be open to all possibilities and watch your world expand like a kaleidoscope. SAT 6/5 3 CAUAC (k'awak) Black/West Keywords: transformation, thunder, lightening, rain, storm, catalyst, cloud, electrical, shift, unexpected. Mercury in Gemini (until June19) The third day is one of service and creativity. The day-sign of Cauac is about transformation. It is represented by the Thunderbeings and is a catalyst for change. Mercury moving into her home sign will help us ease up in all matters of communication and expression of needs. Although Cauac does not mince words or express its energies in subtle ways this day will feel much more comfortable in the ways of relationship. Things are much friendlier than you may have been experiencing. This is an excellent day to make positive connections to our family of origin. In whatever relationship, confront the issues of what is close to your heart and express your true nature. SUN 6/6 4 AHAU (ahow') Yellow/South/Spirit Keywords: Sun lord, ancestors, devoted, persistent, all-seeing, complete, fruition. Disseminating Moon in Aquarius (00 aqu 59) A day to express and distribute what we have accumulated over the last month. A day to "disseminate" our New Moon intentions and lay the groundwork for the 13 day time-pulse. This Moon is asking us to share ourselves with others. The fourth day in the time-pulse is about anchoring the four directions into form and structure. The day-sign of Ahau is about doing so in the most conscious way possible. The date in the 260 day Tzolkin cycle of 4 Ahau relates to the end of the Mayan calendar cycle in 2012. December 21, 2012 or 4 Ahau has the long count date of 13.0.0.0.0. After this date the 5,200 year great cycle of the calendar begins over again at 0.0.0.0.1. We are now being asked on this day to make ourselves and our intentions known. How can we bring into form all that is possible and all that needs to be done in the way of higher heart-mind consciousness? We are most certainly at a divine crossroads and the days ahead provide us with some powerful energies to clear out much of the debris that stands in our way. MON 6/7 5 IMIX (ee'meesh) Red/East/Earth Keywords: primal mother, crocodile, turtle, dragon, protective, creative, initiation. Now that we have laid out our intentions, and declared where we stand, things will feel a bit edgy. This is in part due to a difficult alignment of Mars and Uranus. But this fifth day in the cycle will have us shifting gears. The fifth day is about the transition from the elements of form into the humanness of form. From body to mind. It relates to entering the deeper subconsciousness. Moving from body to mind and back again. There is no sense in letting all these forces of tension and regeneration get in the way of our ability to communicate or express what needs to be said. This day is about primeval wisdom teachings. Imix is represented by the crocodile or turtle and is the great mother of creation. In the cosmos Imix relates to the dark rift of the Milky Way, where the 2012 galactic alignment will take place. It is a place that helps us access the underworld. This day-sign helps us to rebuild what needs to be changed in a way that is most conducive to the earth, to the goddess and beyond all human knowledge. As we prepare for our soul's journey with Venus across the Sun, know that when it comes to truly understanding our place in the universe we are just as small as that tiny dot on the Sun. But we are not insignificant or powerless to the energies. It is not about value or meaning, it is about the fact that we can come into our true power when we have let go of it. Every day as we make our way through the world we are taking that stand in the face of the creation and being reborn again and again to what truly matters.
