by Carol McCloud www.GalacticAlchemy.com Mayan Moon Report: Week of May 17, 2004 Still Point
Today marks a still point in the tapestry of time. Both Venus and Neptune station (stand still) and begin their retrograde periods. In the Tzolkin, 10 Ahau is the last of the 20 days in the center column of the calendar. It marks a point in the cycle that will be the shifting of gears. What has felt as though it was speeding out of control will come nearly to a halt by the end of today. There will be both energies that are building to a crescendo and at the same time we will hitting an invisible wall. The sacred Tzolkin calendar can be seen as a microcosm of our own universe, with its center column relative to the central axis of our galaxy. It is quite interesting then to have this Venus station happening at 27 Gemini across from the Galactic Center. This axis is known as the Galactic Center - Anti-Center, it is a cosmic gateway, of which many mythologies have portrayed in one way or another. The Galactic Center and its massive black hole can be thought of as our galactic root chakra, it is the point from which we came, a birthing place or evolutionary center, a cauldron, a cosmic soup, a place of new beginnings and endings. It is as the Mayans call it, Hunab Ku, the "one giver of movement and measure". The Anti-Center is a point that directs us outward from our galaxy into deep space. It leads us into the Mystery. Next months transit of Venus stands as a marker in time. What happens now will most likely set a precedence for the next century. As past transits have shown us it will lead us into new scientific understandings of the structure of the universe and our place within it. The transit of the 18th century gave us a rare opportunity to determine the actual scalar dimensions of the solar system and brought together an international community to help in the pursuit of knowledge. In our current age, the possibilities surrounding our new discoveries and journeys into the many dimensions of inner and outer space are unparalleled. By highlighting this galactic point in space at the onset of her retrograde journey, Venus seems to be showing us that we are on the verge of uncovering some aspect of our world view that will be incredibly important. Something that will not only will impact our small planet, but will impact those far out regions deep into space. Perhaps we will find that there is nothing farther from our understanding than our own inner spaces, our Yin world, which Venus symbolizes. This period will be a process of making the unknown, knowable and allow for a deeper understanding of the feminine mysteries. The Venus/Inanna/Quetzacotal myth is an initiation process. A current cycle that will manifest as a story of self worth, self love and a deeper capacity to love and be loved, to receive pleasure and appreciate all that life has to offer. It will help us to deepen the meaning of our relationships, as we learn to better communicate our feelings and understand both sides of our natures and of those people with whom we share our lives. The cycle of Venus is a journey into the underworld, it is a cycle of death and resurrection. Today and for the next three weeks we will be following our own Venus mysteries as we are called into these shadowy underworld realms. The retrograde period marks a time of inner work, it is about letting go, and preparing for the new. For the next few weeks we will be releasing the past cycle of the feminine principle of Scorpio (which was where Venus was last retrograde in Oct/Nov 2002) and moving into the principle of Gemini. The Interior conjunction of Venus and the Sun on June 8, 2004, is the point of sacrifice prior to the rebirth and Helical rise of the Morning star on June 15th. This is the day that marks the birth of the new Goddess (God in us). The Gemini Venus process is about the unification of opposites. It is about integration. It is about learning the lessons of relationships, of human nature, and seeking a way to integrate these many ideas and patterns in a form that understandable by all. It is about finding a compatible method of communication between opposites. What we were learning from the past cycle of Scorpio was to go deep into the well of knowledge, to uncover what was hidden in the way of feelings. It was about transcending our dark sides. This cycle will help us to express what it is we have learned. To integrate this deep hidden knowledge in a way that is accessible to all. As we let go of these old themes what we will receive in the next six weeks will be a clear indication of what steps are needed to ascend to the next level. One way to understand how we have been following our own personal journey is to look at what happened during the last cycle, when Venus was retrograde in Gemini. This was in the spring of 1996. The current eight year cycle of Venus will take us into the year that marks the end of the Mayan calendar, 2012. The esoteric meaning of this 8 year cycle will feed into our consciousness on many levels. This period from now until the year 2012, holds much energy in the way of prophecies and end of days scenarios. It is an eight year journey that will become clearer as we move through each step along the way. The full cycle of Venus is a total of 584 days (18 months). Each cycle begins a new process in uncovering a mystic feminine truth that relates to one of the zodiac signs. In an 8 year Venus cycle there are 5 signs that form a 5 pointed star in the zodiac. The five zodiac points of this cosmic quintile are Scorpio, Gemini, Capricorn, Aries, Leo. The Venus cycle allows us to move through and deepen our understanding of all these aspects of the feminine principle as it works through us and is translated in our everyday lives. Because no one alive has ever experienced a transit of Venus across the sun, and because the next 8 years is a gateway between our current reality and the much awaited year of 2012, this new Venus cycle will have an added impact. The process will not only be building on these five core layers of the feminine-human nature, we will be uncovering an aspect of the goddess (god in us) that is deeper and more primal than any one of us has ever experienced. For all of our scientific knowledge we still have a long way to go before we can truly integrate this ancient feminine wisdom into our current culture and consciousness. This is a time that will be help us build a strong bridge into the future. If we continue to learn the lessons of our past, to heal and reveal all aspects of the god in us we will find that a new world can be founded on a new unified and stronger male-female relationship. Today this cosmic doorway opens and the initiation begins! MONDAY MAY 17 10 AHAU (ahow') Yellow/South/Spirit Keywords: Sun lord, ancestors, devoted, persistent, all-seeing, complete, fruition Moon in Taurus Venus and Neptune station retrograde Ten Ahau is a day of manifestation. Ahau is the last glyph in the cycle of 20 and completes a layer in the evolutionary birth-rebirth. Ahau is the daysign associated with Lord Pakal, the mysterious leader who was found buried in the Temple of Inscriptions in Palenque. The design on the lid of Pakals tomb has been a mystery for many years because he resembles a man inside a space craft. It more likely is the depiction of lord Pakal cradled within the Mayan tree of life, symbolizing a re-birthing process. Today we are on the verge of something just as mysterious. TUESDAY MAY 18 11 IMIX (ee'meesh) Red/East/Earth Eleven Imix represents the beginning of a cycle and the dissolution within the current 13 day day period. What has been manifesting or birthed has already happened. This day we will feel the pull of many worlds as the process begins to reach out into many dimensions. We will be letting go and getting ready for the new. WEDNESDAY MAY 19 12 IK (eek') White/North/Air Moon in Taurus/Gemini Twelve Ik is about understanding our experience in the divine plan, and learning how to express it. The new moon in Taurus is conjunct the Pleiades, a point in the cosmos that the Mayans and Cherokee peoples have viewed as an origination point. This is a point of movement and expansion, where new information and knowledge will begin to unfold. THURSDAY MAY 20 13 AKBAL (ak'bal) Black/West/Water Sun in Gemini As we begin the month of Gemini, we end the cycle of Chuen. Today in the calendar is 13 Akbal, the hearth and home of the pulse. Akbal also represents the dreamtime and darkness of night. If the pulse of Chuen represents our journey to the magical realms of Oz, this is the day that represents our coming home. FRIDAY MAY 21 1 KAN (k'an) Yellow/South/Fire Moon in Cancer One (Hun) Kan begins a new 13 day pulse that is represented by the seed. The animal totem for Kan is the lizard. Kan is about pure potentiality. It is like popcorn and the manifestation qualities that are inherent in every seed moment. Kan is about new beginnings, it is about the future. The pulse of Kan is in the 8th column of the Tzolkin calendar. In this column there are a string of 10 days which represent portals to our future. These days are like dark rifts in the galaxy or like the veils between worlds. With both Venus and Neptune working their magical spells in the dark regions of our minds and hearts we will be feeling these days as strong pulls at our unconscious yearnings. Much is happening at a very deep inner layer and without expectations we will learn to become a master of the unknown. SATURDAY MAY 22 2 CHICCHAN (cheek'chan) Red/East/Spirit The second day of the pulse will always bring forth some kernel of the truth we need to know about what is in our way. Chicchan is about body wisdom and mastery of a level of mind that is deep in our ancient past. Be open and this day will present itself with the teachings you will need to understand our primal nature. SUNDAY MAY 23 3 CIMI (kee' mee) White/North/Air Crescent Moon 19 degrees Cancer This third day of the pulse will be about how to create life from death. It is a lesson in making our way through the darkness by finding our own inner light. Three Cimi is the first of the 10 days that are portals to the future. This cycle will show us many ways in which to build our dreams. This crescent moon in Cancer will show us some ways in which we serve, not only to our family and close loved ones, but to the family of all humankind. This will be a day in which to ask ourselves how we can be of service. Something new will be making its way into your consciousness to help answer this question. Copyright © 2004 by C.
