by Carol McCloud www.GalacticAlchemy.com Mayan Moon Report: Week of April 26, 2004 Entering The Field
We are now in the 13 day time-pulse of Etznab, the mirror or sword. Etznab is about truth or consequences. It is a time of wielding power, but learning how to do so in integrity and service to the greater good. At this point we will be scanning the matrix in one wide angle lens reality check. The shadow side is that we can at any time conveniently fall back asleep when we do not like what we see and continue to stay safely medicated in the illusion. It takes time to see this clearly. Etznab is the blade that cuts through all that is not real with precision and grace. It is the knife or scalpel of the surgeon that will open the wound and heal it. Etznab is a chironic force and at the end of this week the planet/comet Chiron will go into a five month retrograde cycle and take us back through time to show us new ways to deal up-front with those old wounds that have so far eluded us. Etznab helps to pull back the focus, allowing that wide angle view. This next week will be our chance to look down the hall of mirrors and learn how to put every fractured piece back into balance, seeing all sides for what they are. MONDAY APRIL 26 2 CAUAC (k'awak) Black/West/Fire Keywords: transformation, thunder, lightning, rain, storm, catalyst, cloud, electrical, shift, unexpected. Moon in Cancer/Leo The day sign of Cauac is the thunderstorm. This is the lightning bolt of realization. It is our "wake up and smell the coffee" call. This is a day of transformation and change. Once the storm has passed there is clarity, understanding and empowerment. The second day will help us to move through the duality and challenges that we will face in the upcoming cycle. People that were born on Cauac are Andy Warhol, Yoko Ono, Madam Blavatsky, Princess Diana. These are people who helped transform the way we think and in many ways created a shift in our culture. This sign is about catalyzing change. Eventually this will be a change in the whole structure of reality. As we move toward the Full Moon and into the next eclipse, today's energies will help us see what needs to be changed and prepare us for the even bigger shifts of the upcoming cycle. TUESDAY APRIL 27 3 AHAU (ahow') Yellow/South/Spirit Keywords: Sun lord, ancestors, devoted, persistent, all-seeing, complete, fruition. First quarter Moon (8 degrees Leo) Sabian Symbol: "A communist activist spreading his revolutionary ideals." Ahau is the day sign of the Sun lord, the ancestors. It is the last glyph in the cycle of 20. Ahau relates to the point in the cycle where ascension takes place. The end of a cycle and the beginning of the new. Four Ahau is the numbered glyph for the end date (December 21, 2012). We are 40 days away from that particular glyph in the cycle of 260 days. Today is 3 Ahau and relates to creation. Three is the female cycle of fruition and earthly embodiment. Within all endings is the power of rebirth and this is the sign that reminds us that we are the embodiment of the power to not only change ourselves, but to change history. This power is within our very cells. It has been found that DNA can be changed with thought. There are 20 different amino acids (building blocks) that make up the codons of our DNA. As the twentieth day sign, Ahau relates to the manifestation and evolution of our ancestral lineage. This signifies the end of a process. Each of the glyphs is representative of our cosmic DNA, it is a unit of consciousness and activator of change. Let the ancient ones speak through us on this day and, with thought intention, be guided and focused on what needs to be changed. Be the voice and change agent for the grandmothers and grandfathers. The third day and first quarter Moon both signify a time of activation, movement and creativity. Each of our gifts is unique and has come from a long line of creative forces. We are the creative building blocks of all that has come before us. It is time for us to shed light and honor all that we are, and all that we will be. Ahau will help guide the way. WEDNESDAY APRIL 28 4 IMIX (ee'meesh) Red/East/Earth Keywords: primal mother, crocodile, turtle, dragon, protective, creative, initiation. This day will open us up to a new sense of optimism and feeling that we can really make a difference. Imix is the glyph that represents the new cycle of evolution. On December 22, 2012, this will be the reflection of energy in the new world. Understand that Ahau represents the culmination point in history and Imix begins the new Mayan cycle. Changes in the calendar speak of subtle energies, not mass destruction. Enlightenment is a process that is fed by our energetic intention. Watch how the movements of these cycles feel with each new day and you will learn how the calendar works, and it will teach you what you need to know. These changes will be felt on one level of consciousness. It allows us an opportunity to tune into frequencies that are just outside realms that are known to us, and begin to clear the signal coming through. Imix asks us to go deep within, diving into primeval waters, to the beginning of time. It is at this origination point that the energies of Imix come alive. Imix is the turtle, the underworld dragon that is the source, the beginning, the "cosmic egg." It is from this egg, within the heart of Orion, that indigenous wisdom says was the birthplace of our planet. Today's energies of 4 Imix are the beginning of the cycle of 20 that leads us through the center of the calendar. This is an anchor point in the calendar. Four Imix holds the energies of all 13 permutations of the glyph. It is a fulcrum point, as is every day within this cycle. This center column is the seventh or "mystic" column. In the Tzolkin calendar grid there are 13 numbers/columns and 20 glyphs/rows. This total number of days represents the sacred cycle of 260 (13 x20). The center column is a cycle of 20 days which relate to the spine of the calendar and to our own spine. The calendar is a microcosmic representation of our evolutionary cycle. It is as though we are spiraling up the tree of life, with each day a new step on the ladder of life. The center column is the merging of all these cycles. I have found that some of the most powerful series of eclipses fall within these 20 days (or within the 20 days prior). The cycles of the eclipses also seem to be moving through these glyphs like rungs up and down the ladder of life, following a backward flow through the cycle, just as the nodes move "backwards" through the zodiac. Just like the eclipse cycles, these days are always filled with high intensity and shifting realities, a time to walk through our lives without expectation, a time to learn to live in the moment. Things will change fast and the closer we are to source, the less we will find ourselves limiting the outcome. Today we begin this new journey and enter the deepest core of the soul of time, a point that brings us deep into the core of ourselves. THURSDAY APRIL 29 5 IK (eek') White/North/Air Keywords: divine wind, whirlwind, communication, mental, breath, fury, release, burst. Moon in Virgo. Ik is the whirlwind, the divine breath and the communicator of the Mayan day signs. Ik speaks its mind and says what it thinks. Here we will find ourselves moving quickly as the cycle begins to pick up speed. This is a day of movement, sound and acceleration. Ik can be the tornado, the eye of the storm and the threading of the needle through it. With the Moon now in Virgo we are going to be more thoughtful and practical in how these energies are expressed. Ik's ability to communicate and express itself makes it a sign in good relation to Virgo and Mercury. We are now a day away from Mercury's about-face and things can be a bit chaotic. The energies of Ik can be secretive, quiet, reserved. There is a lot going on in the undercurrent of this sign. It can also be explosive or frenzied. Watch for outbursts of emotion from people born on this day. FRIDAY APRIL 30 6 AKBAL (ak'bal) Black/West/Water Keywords: home, hearth, dreamtime, night, logical, organized, abundance. Mercury Stations Direct (22 degrees Aries) Sabian Symbol: "The gate to the garden of all fulfilled desires." Akbal is the dreamer and the keeper of the cosmic home fires. Akbal is a powerful shamanic force in the cycle. It helps us to create a womb space of inner knowing. These are days when we can tune in to our ability to know and understand the darkness. And that which comes from it. When we can see both sides and recognize the duality we will always be able to harmonize with the whole. This is a day of transcending the idea of dark and light and living in the center. This power is shown in the symbol of yin and yang, in which each separation has an element of the other within its darkness or lightness. The sixth day is a time of learning to flow with the rhythm of the cosmos. There is much to learn about "flow" today. Mercury stations and gets ready to move forward in the zodiac. This isn't always an easy time. Often we will get a bit ahead of ourselves, making false starts and having to back track, because it is difficult to judge just where the new energies are headed. Don't let this stop you from continuing to make new plans. Tune into that deep inner sense and remember nothing says that you have to put everything into action just yet. The galactic power associated with Akbal is the Orion Nebula (M42). This nebula is the cosmic nursery of new stars and is the fire in the hearth of the belt of Orion. Something big is brewing and all we need to know is that no matter how far behind we may feel, everything is right on time. SATURDAY MAY 1 7 KAN (k'an) Yellow/South/Fire Keywords: seed, sexual, new beginnings, lizard, dragon, fertility, opening, manifestation. Gibbous Moon in Virgo. Beltane. Kan is the lizard/dragon that relates to our natural energies. Dragon lines are the balance between yin and yang. This is the chi and life force energy that moves through our bodies and through the planet. Today will be a good day to find ourselves in nature, connected to the elements. The power of alchemy is a potent force as we enter this space of wildness and wild abandon. The seventh day is the merging of the above and below and Kan is the seed that germinates this new beginning. Kan is a very sensual sign and like the snake is connected to the energies of earth. It is the seed that is planted and the dreaming lizard who crawls close to the ground. This day is the cross-quarter day of Beltane and a traditional fertility festival. This day was about making love in the fields and securing a bountiful harvesting season. Kan can be about raw sexuality and charisma. Martin Luther King and Jim Morrison were both born on this day. The budding moon is asking us to open and receive, even when we feel we can do it ourselves. This is not a day for isolation. This is a day for expansion in all directions. SUNDAY MAY 2 8 CHICCHAN (cheek'chan) Red/East/Spirit Keywords: celestial serpent, snake, life force, strong willed, powerful, intuitive, healing. Moon in Libra. Watch the energies of Pluto and Venus which went into opposition last night. This can bring a somewhat cunning nature out of the energies of the snake. The celestial serpent is the sign and point in the cycle where we will want to express a deeper aspect of our sensibilities. Kan is about dreaming and anchoring our sensual natures and Chicchan is the activator. This is a physical, willful and powerful day sign. Chicchan is a sign which carries incredible energetic medicine. The moon in Libra has us desiring to be in relationship, to be connected to someone other than ourselves. The eighth day in the cycle is about weaving the infinite with the finite and bringing the heavens to earth. With the energies of the celestial serpent and our desire to expand outward, we may find our consciousness moving beyond this galaxy. We may find ways to connect that take us out of the physical realm. Once we learn to master the energies of this kind of power, great healings can take place. Copyright © 2004 by C.
